MSI Vector 16HX AI audio failure, Help!

Its a grounding issue, a freaking grounding issue bec. MSI didnt use good shielding materials, i disabled left speaker which was the main issue but static buzzing sound was still coming out of the left side even tho right speaker only was working and it never happens when sound isnt playing it only happens when sound is playing through built in speaker, doesnt happen with headphones.

I have a euro model so i have a 2 pronged cable not 3 pronged like asian/US models which is better for grounding, this is a hardware issue and i am willing to bet it mostly affect euro models..

mSI Use better shielding materials on your freaking devices this is such a horrible thing to skimp on specially on a high-mid range performance laptop......

Is it true?
Yes, after nearly a whole month of testing, iam near certain that this is a grounding/shielding material issue based on all of the things i have mentioned on this thread as well as other posts on reddit.

MSI skimped on shielding materials, thats why the vector line up is plagued with static/buzzing sounds issues

Quick update here for anyone seeing this now, not a grounding issue, but a realtek audio driver conflict issue that keeps craching randomly in windows, u can find more details on this thread

what version of the realtek audio driver are you currently using on your msi vector 16 hx laptop? the version listed for that laptop hasn't been updated for several months.

try this one (it's for recent msi desktop motherboards but may work on msi laptops, handheld/mini pcs & aio desktop pcs - and it's updated periodically for MSI MBs)

Realtek OED Driver20.40.274.12 & Realtek Audio Driver6.0.9802.1 are the ones listed on the website, & through the MSI center as well. ya it hasn't been updated for month, i will try testing this out but based on my recent testing trying to force windows generic drivers, either window or MSI center will still force the version on the website even through a clean uninstall/install. but still this has to be fixed from MSI's side, this would be nothing more than a workaround which could produce other issues.

Thanks for your advise though i will try this driver.

Hello, for the same model of laptop; i have the same issue. audiodg.exe and srvchost.exe crashing and audio turning off by itself. I had a call with Microsoft but they put it on MSI.
Also it started for me after having windows updates. since I did full new windows install, data gone. so i am not sure which version but this is the case.
and we need real support from the MSI i guess.

This is a known issue with win11 25 h2 and msi laptops. It differs in frequency and severity between different devices, and is clearly a SOFTWARE issue. It did not exist in win24 h2 or in Linux (both tested). In my case, I did clean format and windows reinstall, disabled getting drivers from windows update (in Group Policy Editor) and properly installed them manually. Then I performed all the windows update ("get the latest updates...." button enabled). That fixed the issue. If all else fails, you could also try permanently setting the CPU affinity setting for audiodg.exe to 2 cores. You will need Process Lasso software for this setting to be applied permanently (automatically every time your laptop starts). What this setting does is telling your computer to allow audiodg.exe to ONLY use 2 of your 20 cores. This also fixed my problem (before I installed the latest windows updates...). It only uses ~5-10mb or RAM. Maybe try sfc /scannow, in case there are any corrupt files after win update, because many driver updates fail if you get them from Microsoft.

Hello, if this is a known issue and came up with the windows update; how the vendor can't fix it somehow? Isn't it strange? I've tried to open a case in the portal but it doesn't allow me to do.
This is really strange and not a good looking for manufacturer.

When I say "known" I mean amongst many MSI users, there is also some reddits about this... But it is a very recent issue...

any update on this, I updated to the latest version of windows and this issue started to happen frequently. disconnecting the audio for several minutes then returns sometimes cause BSOD

Nah, there is no proper solution at the moment. I'm updating the drivers to latest version with a hope any new version will fix it, but no luch so far..

Until it gets officially fixed from MSI or Microsoft, you can try 1 of the temporary solutions mentioned above. For myself permanently setting the CPU affinity of audiodg.exe to 2 cores (instead of all of them) did the trick..

I did a full factory reset then manually installed every single audio/graphics driver and it seems to be working fine for now, not getting any audio stutters for now, have been like this for about a week or so but the audio quality itself is still crackly and squeaky which i guess is related to the driver /speakers

when somebody tells you that reinstalling clean windowns and drivers from msi support website will help you I can guarantee it won't.. I was from the start on clean w11 with drivers from MSI and sound was crackling..

the issue is likely the "AMD Software" (Adrenalin I think it's called) program, which gets installed together with the chipset drivers.
if you check your Device Manager you will probably see that there's a "AMD USB Audio Device" with a warning sign, which is the thing that makes your speakers work.
simply go in the start menu, type "ädd or remove programs" and uninstall "AMD Software", your audio should now be back.
a side effect is now you will have a warning on a "Multimedia Controller" like me, but considering i still haven't seen anything wrong with the system it's probably not something important.

No idea what you installed, but there's definitely nothing like AMD Software if you install everything from the MSI website. You must have installed this "AMD Software" yourself.

i used first their own drivers then updated to the most recent.
i have since uninstalled and tried just their own drivers, even the one named "amd graphics driver" 1127367_Win10_x64(566.36)_Studio_32.0.15.6636_0x8ff1fefd but that also did not install the audio coprocessor drivers. tried uninstalling everything and installing that a couple of times now, it does nothing.

just an update, i figured out i confused the amd and nvidia drivers with each other.
installed the AMD one and this time the audio coprocessor is not [***CENSORED***] up the realtek drivers.
