Beta BIOS 1N3 is available
I've considered that 1) my X370 system is working incredible 2) the RAM at 3466 is stable 3) the L BIOS is ready for the R7 2700X, but not Ryzen 3000.

If I don't get the BIOS updated, the motherboard becomes "day 1-end-of-life", never to be upgraded again. Right?
If I do the upgrade the current performance delight may be diminished. Right?
If I don't updated the BIOS, should I also freeze the AMD chipset version for the 5 packaged drivers?

No hurry. Maybe feedback will come.

right mate, if you give the 1N3 a go, list your system specs and any observations in behavior you spot

Will do, just preparing for the flash. Need to document my overclock and memory timings and then I'll get to it.

just a fast word
it is possible that once you update to 1N3 a downgrade back might only be possible with some difficulty
I have seen posts about the downgrade effort and technical skill needed
One of my concerns

Well the bios flashed fine. Nothing much has changed in there. New setting for PCIe lanes. I've redone my bios settings and shall now so some testing for ram and cpu stability.

Specs.

1700@3,8ghz team group dark pro 3200 ram @14-14-14-14-28
GFX 1080 960 evo Nvme

All seems fine so far but I shall post back after some testing.

Might you be able to tell more about the PCIE option? Which menu is it on? What choices are in the menu?

This may indicate our board could support the x4 speed via the series 3000 CPUs.

My current plan is to buy a Ryzen 3000 CPU for the X470 board and move my 2700X to the X370 board. Curious what PCIE x4 will mean for NVME drive speeds and GPU performance.

So after a week of testing 1.N3 I've found not an issue.

The PCI gen and pcei lanes can now be configured. Overclocking was just dialing in my previous settings.

So all in I've found the bios to be fine.

Thank you for the thorough testing and report on the observations. The link to CPU-Z was from the 1L0 BIOS though. Not the 1N3

This remains a dilemma for me. I read about the challenges of downgrading a BIOS. I may never update the board again unless I gain confidence to move forward now.

Thank you have a great weekend.

Best Regards
Mike

I've had 2 pc hangups with 1N3 bios on my X370 Carbon in 2 weeks. Running an early R7 1700@3.6Ghz with F4-3200C14-8GVR 16GB B-die at rated speed. Once in login screen and once doing random things. Second time it was very weird. It was like my pc responded every 10 seconds. Login hang was just frozen. Rolled back to 1L0 without problems.

How to roll back to 1L0? Please tell me...
