Hello ,

I have a MSI X470 Gaming Plus and PCIe 3 2.0 x1 is not detecting my 5 port usb card. PCIe 5 detects it but 3 does not. I am not sure where to go from here, any help is appreciated.

MSI X470 Gaming Plus
AMD Ryzen 5 2400G
MSI Radeon RX570 Armor MK2 - Graphics card

May be dirt or a bent pin in the PCIE _3 Slot
Make sure it is not damaged or any dust or muck in the slot

That all seemed good. Do you think it won't work since I use a m.2 ssd? In the manual it says if I use m.2 in the m.2 second slot it will make pcie5 not work. But it don't say anything about m.2 slot 1 doing that. I have tried 2 different USB cards with same results.

No it should not be that I had a look and it should not affect PCIE_3 at all

I would say it is most likey a dead PCIE Slot

Well that sucks. Never used that slot since I built it 2-3 years ago. Is there anything in Bios I would have to change or try ?
You can try setting PCIe TO 3.0 OR 2.0 For the chipset

Can you try to plug something else in the pcie-3 slot to check if will be detected?
Have you done >>Clear CMOS Guide<< with power cord removed?
What BIOS version board is using?

PCIe 3 2.0 x1 is not detecting my 5 port usb card. PCIe 5 detects it but 3 does not.

Have you checked in BIOS Setup, Board Explorer if will list that PCIe 3 is filled [non empty] when you plug it in there?

I actually have 5 port usb card in it. I left it plugged in. I believe its the newest bios of board. I updated while ago just don't remember when. I have not tried any CMOS clearing as of yet

I can use one usb expansion card (PCIe5) so I am not concerned but since I had it it would of been nice to use it. Kinda frustrated at this point
