So recently tried to update to the new BIOS v 7B78v2I had major problems within Windows, unexpected BSOD's and shut downs. Also when attempting to reflash the BIOS to the prior version MFLASH would not work correctly in BIOS version 7B78v2I , just a black screen.

What's your graphics card? Black screen in BIOS can easily happen with a graphics card that's older, see here. Furthermore, try the different outputs of your GPU with different cables.

Thanks for the reply! Well I do have a Nvidia 2070 Super runs wonderful under BIOS 2.E0 with secure boot enabled. I do not think the card is the issue.

I did notice a few changes in BIOS 7B78v2I that were interesting after having reinstalled it again, perusing through the settings I noticed that there were more changes than just secure boot which by the way was also enabled in BIOS 2.E0, I found that crypto mining for the graphics card was enabled in 7B78v2I which is disabled in 2.E0. I have since changed many settings to reflect what I had at 2.E0 so I am playing a wait and see game now.

Also after a bit of research someone had mentioned that MSI BIOS now requires a HDMI connection for MFLASH as opposed to a VGA or display port which may explain quite a bit if it is the case.

Yes, from a certain BIOS version onwards, "Above 4G memory / Crypto currency mining" is Enabled by default, this is also related to Resizable BAR (your card doesn't use this yet).
Let's see if you can determine an "offending setting".
