I have a MSI X570 ACE Motherboard. I'm getting the error
"Overcurrent detected in the USB, the computer will shut down to prevent damage to the motherboard in 15 seconds."
This happens after computer shutdowns.
What should I do.
would need more details,
unplug all USB devices
boot up with no usb devices at all.
change keyboard / mouse
if not faulty USB device some things to try are: (not in any particular order)
install latest chipset drivers
update to latest BIOS
unplug all internal USB motherboard header connected cables
remove motherboard from case and test the board as bare as possible, just ram, boot disk, CPU, GPU if needed.
If you have removed all USB devices, and connections to the motherboard then quite possible motherboard is bad.
Provide more information, like PSU, USB connected devices , operating system, when where or how the computer shuts down and gives this message.
From what I remember, this is a fairly common problem with the AMD X570 series boards.
As the user above me suggests, remove all USB devices, and see if it still happens. If it does, it might be worthwhile contacting MSI directly : >>How to contact MSI.<<
