Hi guys, I just upgraded my BIOS to 3.8 and I'm already regretting the decision. I remember that in the previous version there was an option so you could stop the board from changing your CPU voltage when your CPU was not requiring it, but now it is doing it and I cant find where to shut it off. http://i846.photobucket.com/albums/ab27/bojddo/cpuz.jpg

I set the voltage to 1.25v but it gets lower by itself to around 1.10v, and I'm not sure if that is way, but since the update I been experiencing sudden reboots :(

Thank you for your help.

in the previous version

What was your previous version?

stop the board from changing your CPU voltage when your CPU was not requiring it, but now it is doing it and I cant find where to shut it off.

Why would you want to disable that feature?

but since the update I been experiencing sudden reboots

Test with one memory module only and unplug your PSU from A/C Power, then >>Clear CMOS<<, load "Optimized Defaults" in BIOS Setup and make sure that the memory is not running any bit faster than DDR3-1066.

I set the voltage to 1.25v

What for?

hi Jack,  the previous version was 3.7. I remember that with that version the vcore voltage was always the same i set on bios when i looked it cpuz, that's why im asking if the fact that the board is lowering the voltage as the cpu its not using it full potential has got to do anything with my computer rebooting unexpecteldly because i had my system running stable with the same settings i configured after the upgrade. I set the voltage to 1.25v as that was what i found to be the voltage to get the computer running stable at 3.6GHz.

That CPU voltage may sitting on the edge for a stable 3.6 OC. Might try increasing it a tad. :-)) What exactly is the RAM speed, CR, timings, & voltage set at?

right now I'm running RAM at 1147MHz (8-8-8-21 2N) and 1.65v; you help me in the past with this post HU16E https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=133863.0

with a "tad" you mean like what? setting the vcore at 1.30v? 1.35v?

Thanks.

Give 1.30V's a try. 1.65v's for the RAM seems on the upper edge, but within limit. CPU voltage lowering as a result of power saving features shouldn't cause any problem. Soon as the system senses it needs more it should automatically increase to meet the increased load. :-))
