Hi there! I've got a used MSI Z170A-G43 Plus with i5-6600k, then i bought new set G.SKILL Trident Z with XMP 3200 MHz CL16 16Gb(2x8). First boot was perfect, then i've tried to enable XMP mode and... black screen. Okay, cleared CMOS, update BIOS to the latest version and it failed again...
CPU overclocked to 4.1 GHz with 1.25V, RAM can boot at 2400 MHz with CL12 and that's all, higher speed gives me a black screen, RAM voltage set to 1.35 according with XMP profile
Is it possible to run RAM higher than 2400 MHz on that motherboard with i5-6600K?

I've finally defeat this problem. The reason was some problems with disabling XMP. It was disabled by clicking on XMP button in the main screen in BIOS but the light "XMP Enabled" on the MB was on... I've set all XMP profile settings manually and it turns on now. But why it can't run by enabling XMP button in BIOS setting? It's strange a little

Remove the cpu oc and retry. Also what bios version are you using?

BIOS 7970v3F, it's latest for my MB. Removing OC on CPU doesn't make any difference. I've just manually set RAM speed at 3200 MHz with 1.35 and 16-18-18-36 and it works now because XMP led is off now. There was a few tries to clear CMOS and XMP led turns off. Thanks for all your help ;)
