Hi, I look at the MSI board on NewEgg, and I don't see any specification as they work with  ISR. I'm planing to get a GD-65 or 80 and I want to use a 64 gb SSD with a mecanical drive with this new ISR.

To use the SSD caching you will have to install windows in AHCI or Raid mode on the mechanical drive/s. Once the OS is in place you'll need to install the most current version of the IRST. It is through that program a tool is found to initiate the caching. This works in combination with the option ROM of the Bios in order to boot where you will enjoy the benefits. As with all new tech their will be growing pains and setup issues so YMMV depending on your setup. Currently I've see reported it's not working with a Raid array the complication is a no boot situation after setup but I see no reason it should not work if done properly.

Hi, I look at the MSI board on NewEgg, and I don't see any specification as they work with  ISR.
It appears Z68 boards are capable of this technology. The big introduction & push by Intel is supposed to be in conjunction with the budget Larsen Creek SSD's release. The websites like techpowerup & others are loaded with information about ISR. All indications show ISR will definately be provided with Z68 & Panther Point. Would imagine the Intel website has some details since it is their brainchild.

As with the Intel chart for Z68 chipset, it does indicate that ISR technology is an "optional" choice, which means that some entry level boards may or may not have this technology given as a norm.

I still trying to gather more information to see if it is embedded and activated as a given in every Z68 chipsets.

This is a software implementation of the IRST in conjunction with the Intel Z68 chipset(native). It is available on all Z68 motherboards through the IRST software.
