Hi

I am using the first two M2 slots on the motherboard with NVME drives in them. First for my boot and the other for games.
If I was to use the other slots what, in any, consequences are there for reduction in SATA or Lanes etc to other slots / interfaces...?

With my previous Z390 Gigabyte Master there were three slots and a table within the manual telling you what would be disabled if you used them in combination.....

The above picture is from my GIGABYTE manual and NOT related to the MSI board.

Unless I have missed it I can't find anything similar in the pdf manual for my MSI board. But there might not be limitations if I use all four with NVME drives at the same time...?

Thanks

That's right, there are no limitations from populating all M.2 slots. The first is from the CPU, the other three from the chipset, and they don't seem to share PCIe lanes with anything.

It seems that on Z690 they really made the M.2 slots a priority. Lots of them, and they tried hard to avoid any PCIe lane sharing via switches.

Wow that is impressive. Especially considering that the board I bought was one of the cheaper types and some much more expensive only have 3 M2 ports.

Thanks
