I recently built a new pc with this motherboard and the PC can’t find any WiFi networks. I’ve installed all the necessary drivers for it (including the WiFi drivers from Intel directly), and it looks like WiFi functionality isn’t working at all. It’s as if there is no WiFi component.

Check if the antennas are screwed on at the rear I/O. Otherwise it will only get a terribly weak signal.

Oh ok. But it's fully plugged in then, and the antennas are in a decent position?

Then the cause is something else. I looked into it more (after now having excluded the easiest potential issue first), and this board, like all WiFi 7 solutions from MSI, doesn't use Intel Wifi/BT, it uses a Qualcomm WiFi 7 / BT Combo module. So you have to install the Qualcomm drivers for it from https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MPG-Z790-CARBON-WIFI-II/support

Should you use Win10: This doesn't work on Win10, it uses a new driver architecture that only Windows 11 supports (NetAdapterCx instead of NDIS). But Win11 is recommended anyway. Firstly, as mentioned here, Win11 has better support for 12th/13th/14th gen CPUs and their different cores. Secondly, because then you won't have to do the big upgrade to Win11 within a year's time (when Win10 support ends and it's left to die).

Lastly, it is recommended to update the BIOS to the latest version, and then you can go by this guide to optimize how the CPU is running.

Ooooh. I was partly wondering if this was a windows version issue. I am currently running windows 10 pro after all. And I also noticed the Qualcomm drivers but wasn’t sure if those were for this or not. I guess I’ll upgrade to W11 :(
