Morning guys,

When using MSIHQ to make a BIOS update USB i download the BIOS from the MSI website and use the tool to automatically add them to the USB. I restart my computer and select boot from USB and use option 1 (run test) or option 2 (update BIOS) and they both come up with "COMMAND.COM is missing or corrupt"

What am i doing wrong ........  :confused2:

For the record before i restart the PC it shows Command.com on the USB stick but after the restart and error messages it is no longer there ......

Cheers,

Dan

sounds like your USB key has a failure
try reformat it and try again
or try again with different memory stick

I have now tried 3 USB sticks and all look the same when using MSIHQ - go to install BIOS updates and i get the Command.Com error again ...... stuck for ideas now?!?

oki, and you want to flash to 1.6? http://www.msi.com/support/mb/Z97-GAMING-7.html#down-bios
or? what issue you have that required bios update?

Every few times i switch my computer on i get no power to mouse or keyboard and i get an error on boot. so thought it was a good time to update!

make USB key bootable follow this guide:
http://www.bay-wolf.com/usbmemstick.htm

then get attached file and extract all files to the USB key,
then reboot computer and boot from USB key,
when you see A:\ or C:\, type:
flash.bat [ENTER]
wait to finish
then turn off the computer, remove power cord from the PSU and do >>Clear CMOS Guide<<
