My 5 year old MSI GP65 Leopard does not start. Some kind of hardware issue. Capslock LED and Disk LED both are on.

After working at night I turned off the laptop and in the morning when I tried to turn it on , it did not boot up. I tried with AC plugged in but still nothing. When I plug in the AC , Capslock and disk indicator light up and stay on till AC is unplugged and nothing happens when I press down power button.

I tried EC reset and also I removed the battery and tried to turn the laptop on only AC plugged in and It started. Then I put the battery back.

After successful boot it runs on battery with AC disconnected and battery shows 90% and charging.

But when I restart back on battery, it seems to have the same problem.

Should I replace the battery or It might me something else.
Battery current capacity is 78 percent.

What could be the possible reason?

sounds like the battery I/C got some problem. Any chance to access the RMA?

Thanks for replying.
It could be but the capslock and the disk indicator led are now behaving normally and laptop is turning on as normal as long as I first start it plugged in and then it works on battery and turns on on battery alone.
I still don't understand what the issue was.

I just kept it with battery removed and charger plugged in and the capslock and the disk indicator led turned off after a while on its own.

Laptop is well out of the warranty period so RMA is not a possible option.
