Hello, I have had this laptop for almost a year and a half now and I have had this issue pop up a couple months after I got my laptop and that is the cursor sometimes going slow and sluggish at random, it was really rare and it didn't last that long. It actually hasn't happened for quite a while until today. It has been constant with my cursor movement constantly going back and forth between being normal and being slow. I have tried a lot of things. I even decided to a bios update in hopes of fixing it, it seemed to work at first, but now its just happening again. Is there anything I can do about this?

It has been slow basically non stop now unless I stop using it for a bit then it goes back to normal. When I moved the cursor again I noticed when it went back to being slow the cursor would stutter before going slow. Its like its switching between modes I don't get it.

I tried reinstalling the trackpad driver, sadly it doesn't seem to help. Though I did notice something, it happened when I went to open a website like twitter or something like that.

Would the problem occur with the external mouse? If yes, it could be something in the system capping the performance. If not, it would be more like a hardware problem.

No it doesn't, the issue has gotten worse in the last couple days as it tends to just freeze in place for a bit, very likely its hardware related. I tend to turn the trackpad off now and use a external mouse. This issue won't affect any other parts of my laptop right?

In general, this type of touchpad-related issue should not affect other main components of the laptop, so hopefully the rest of the system is fine. (With fingers crossed)
