Yesterday I was building my PC and everything was going pretty smoothly, it finally came time to install the GPU into the MOBO, I set the locking latch on the Pci 16x into the down (unlocked position), took the plastic covering of the pins off the GPU, aligned the pins into place, applied even pressure and it won't go in. I have tried well over 50 times and every time the side closest to the lock will actually go in and set the locking latch to its closed (locked position) but the pins closest to the HDMI port remain sticking out. It's as if there's something not wanting to budge.

Supplementary experiments:
1. Tried to put it in the other port closer to the bottom of the MOBO, no effect.
2. Upon reading a similar problem on reddit, I tried lossening the screws on the MOBO and tried to wiggle it in a little more, no effect.
3. I've tried to put the pins that wont go in first, no effect.

The last thing I have left to try is undoing all of the cords going into the mobo, unmounting the MOBO and installing the graphics card outside the case. Is that what I should try next or is there something wrong with my components?

Could you share a photo of your card? And make sure the PCI-E slot is not damaged?
