Hey what?s up everybody at MSI forums
So I had the chance to do a video review from the new ARCTIC model of the Trident 3.. and.. well it is absolutely amazing but I had a reaaally worrying issue with it.. concerning the temperatures. Did I miss something, take a look at my video review or the short quote down below.
The brand new small formfactor PC from MSI is a beast of a machine! It?s a PC that is smaller than a XBOX ONE console but as fast as a big desktop PC using the same parts! It has the newest Intel 7. series 7700 CPU in it and MSI-s very own GTX1070 AERO ITX 8GB which in tandem give incredible FPS in games.. specially considering that it is a very small and quiet PC. Even when playing games the Trident 3 Arctic hardly makes a sound! The pricing on the black version is really great and the white version with the more powerful videocard should cost about a few hundred euros more.
There is hardly anything negative to say about this PC.. and I would say that there aint anything negative parts.. if we coun?t out the horrible CPU cooler, it is very weak. For some odd reason the fan won?t go past 50% of it?s total maximum capacity which could be an easy software fix via an BIOS update or such but at the moment the temperatures are way too huge for safe operation in the long run. While playing the CPU can reach about 100c without a problem.. how good is that to the surrounding components is hard to say right now.
If the temperature problem is fixed then I would say it is one of the best if not the very best small formfactor PC out on the market. Very nice design, huge power but right now.. it gets way too hot.
Verdict 7,5 out of 10!
PROS:
? Very good price points on both the black and arctic!
? Performance is top notch
? Design is stellar!
? Really quiet while surfing the web or gaming
? Smaller than an XBOX ONE!
CONS:
? CPU cooling needs to improve a lot! But might
be fixable with a BIOS update.. or maybe my
review unit was faulty or something..
ADD +1.5 or 1.8 to the score if the temps are
below 75c while gaming!
? No other real cons.. :o upgradability could be easier
Really hard to get to the hard drives!
