I am using Z790 tomahawk max Wi-Fi with corsair vengeance DDR 5 Ram 32gb intel i7 14700k ASUS tuf 4090 oc ASUS tuf 1000w gold power supply and Samsung 980 pro nvme ssd and got the pc built at Best Buy and when I picked it up he told me that he tried enabling expo or exp and the pc crashed so ram is running at default 4800 instead of 6000 and was wondering how I could get this working properly. Also I am wondering if my cooler is good enough for the cpu it’s a GA Trinity 2 360.

This should have been fixed before you took delivery
As one cause is bent socket pins
I would advise you try a Bios update first

Or take it back to Best BUY and demand they sort it out or refund you

Agree. BIOS needs to be updated, not only because of potentially improved memory support, but also because this system uses a 14700K that would get blasted with voltage spikes on an old BIOS version, leading to premature CPU degradation. So i would do the following,

1) Update BIOS to the latest vA8 from https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MAG-Z790-TOMAHAWK-MAX-WIFI/support
2) Try if XMP works now,
3) Then you can go by my Guide: How to set good power limits in the BIOS and reduce the CPU power draw for further improvements.

What's your exact RAM kit model?

Ok, so it's already the latest, good. What you can try, reverse the order of the RAM sticks in the slots, but keeping them in A2+B2, just switch B2 <-> A2. Sometimes the board likes one order better than the other, as the modules are never 100% identical in their electrical properties. Then, what's your exact RAM kit model?

The MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI has four slots, A1, A2, B1, B2. Put the module from B2 into A2 and vice versa. Leave A1 and B1 empty.

This is how they have my ram. I hope y’all can look at this picture. I think it needs to be moved over one slot both or I could be wrong. It’s taking forever to upload this picture one to hear but there’s four ram slots. The first one is empty. The second one has a ram stick then the third one is empty and then the fourth one has the ram stick if that makes any sense since the picture won’t upload.

It also says my cou speed 5.60gHz

That is suspicious, normally it should show the base speed of 3.40 GHz in the BIOS (that base speed is irrelevant for normal use, but usually it will show that, and not the highest boost speed). Can you show a photo/screenshot of the main BIOS screen? I want to see if Best Buy fell for the temptation of enabling GameBoost, one of the worst functions in the entire BIOS on Intel-based boards.

The first one is empty. The second one has a ram stick then the third one is empty and then the fourth one has the ram stick if that makes any sense since the picture won’t upload.

That would be correct, second and fourth slot from the left have to be populated first.

For the picture, upload to an image hoster and link it here.

If needed to take a better picture, I can

As i feared, GameBoost is enabled, so definitely disable that. You do not want to use that on a 14700K, that CPU is already a monster as it is.

RAM module placement is how it should be.

I don’t even understand how you seem gaming boost, or whatever you call. It was enable from the buy screen.

I doubt the expertise of Best Buy if they think that GameBoost is a good idea to enable here. On the plus side, the BIOS is up to date, which is important.
But if they can't get XMP to work, they should use a different RAM kit.
