Need GX660 Compatible FullHD (1080p) LVDS Cable

Hi guys,

Im new to the forum, so let me know if I do anything wrong in posting.

I own a gx660-260us, and currently want to upgrade my screen to 1080p, and just found out that my lvds cable doesn't support 1080p resolution. I know this is weird since lots of gx660 variant can be upgraded to 1080p, but im surprised as well that my cable cant. On the internet I found 2 other people that are having the same problem, and one of em managed to make it worked with dell's lvds cable, but i couldnt reach the guy, so here i am hunting for the lvds cable.

So if anybody have a serial/part number of the fullhd lvds cable that can work with gx660 please let me know. Or maybe if someone who has gx660r, or gt683r, or gx680 that has 1080p screen and able to get your lvds part number, that would be even better as i can try contact msi directly to order the specific part.

The LVDS cable as fitted to the full HD model GX660 is:

K19-3031001-V03

INT LVDS CABLE,31,176/60/114/230mm,CN1-40pin/CN2-40pin/CN3-6pin,FOR MS-16F1,15.6 INCH FHD_LVDS CABLE,RoHS COMPLIANCE

It's for an LED screen, so make sure you get the right one :)

Thanks alot for the info, any chance you would know what each measurement is for? Coz i measured my cable and couldnt seem to find a number that match. Im worried that it be for the right side connector led screen since the screen i wanna get is a left side connector from the back. Im worried about the webcam cable as well, if its too short or not.

Embarrasingly, I can't remember each measurement but the cable length is 230mm
 
any chance you remember if its supposed to be for a left side connector screen or a right side? looking from the back of the screen that is.

and does it has a long cable intersecting at one end for webcam?

do you know any other cable that would be compatible? or this is the only one you know?

sorry for all the question, but youre the only that has given an info about this fullhd cable, while the rest simply cant confirm which support 1080p and which doesnt.

I'm afraid I have no idea, I'm making an educated guess here.

It looks like the 1080p LCD in the GX660R is a AU B156HW01 Version 5,LED

So as long as you get the correct LCD, you 'should' be ok.
 
well, i believe if its the b156hw01 v5 then it should be on the left side, the same as the v4 that im trying to get ^^

either way, thanks alot for all your info, i really appreciate it, now i proly going to have to buy a few cables along with the one you suggested and try them one by one

i know this thread is sort of old but im having just the same problem. any chance any of you could tell me where i can buy this cable online. i live in norway and MSI wont sell me one so i need a comatible cableoriginal or not, allmost dont care about price since im desperat to get my baby back on.

sadly, i couldnt find any website that sell that lvds cable. i found mine from msi australia; i tried usa msi but they dont have it in stock. i tried uk but they dont sell parts. when i use the online help they replied after a month telling me to contact malaysia and singapore msi, so the supposedly sell parts, but i didnt contact them since i already got mine. and i dont think they ship worldwide, that time i was in business trip to australia and got mine straight away.

everything was done by email back and forth with whicever msi rep i could find. i couldnt find any website that sell that lvds cable, and msi itself is really hard to work with; they cooperate, but they dont know much. this is the thread where i actually found the serial number information, not from all the msi rep ive been in contact with.

i seriously have no idea, the cable that i have before looks exactly the same as what i have right now, but the latter one support fullhd while the old one doesnt.

the cable looks like a T, with one end goes to mobo, and the other two goes to webcam and lcd. the end that goes to the webcam is supposedly regular 6pin, while the lcd end should be the regular 40pin strip.

the problem is the mobo end, i checked with the guy i bought my screen with, he said he never seen that kind of connector. so i guess its uniquely for msi.

nope, you are right, that is for 768p only, i already check with them, they used to take custom orders for the cable, but now they dont anymore
 
if i may ask where do you live? and do you have the email you sent to msi australia, im starting to see them as my last chance... so if i could have e peek at what you wrote to them it would be great!
