If your motherboard has a bios flashback button, you can remove everything including all ram sticks and even the CPU. You don't need mouse or keyboard either. Only the motherboard and PSU and a USB flashdrive.
View attachment 212428After the 2 weeks of trouble shooting with Reddit and these forums I have yet to figure out a solution. I recently updated my BIOS via the MSI website with the file. I got a really ugly (new) looking bios. Quickly realizing something was not right. I tried to flash back to my original bios. MFlash froze with a mouse icon (attaching picture) and I have tried everything. Not having the stick plugged in, unplugging perephials. Of course the modern warfare 4 beta comes out and I have to “update bios for TPM update” and I am unable to do so. I am hoping that posting this, someone from MSI will care enough to help me out. But I’m at a point that my next board will be ASUS. I’m going to attach pictures of the BIOS that I updated to (September of 2025) and the “freeze” when I try to flash
Is there an issue with the system? any weird bugs? or is it just the new UI that you dislike?I got a really ugly (new) looking bios
So how do I update the AMD fTPM? The Mflash tool doesn’t even get past the “enter flash mode”from the looks of the BIOS Version being (E7A34AMS.MJC) so its a B350 GAMING PLUS Motherboard with BIOS version 7A34vMJC(Beta version).
that Board Has NO BIOS Flashback Function on it so only the normal BIOS Flash via M-Flash.
as for the Looks of the BIOS its gone from a Fancy GUI BIOS to a Basic Version as that board has a Limited Size on its BIOS Chip and as the newer versions add more DATA to the Underlying AGESA Microcode for support for newer CPU's and RAM ect they had to remove the GUI Interface (the Nice looking Interface) to make room for the Improved Support Parts.
most newer Motherboard have a 32MB (32,768,000 bytes) BIOS Chip or even Dual 32MB Chips but that one you have is a 128-bit (16MB) SPI Flash UEFI BIOS IC (16,777,216 bytes) so its highly Limited and to add support for more Hardware support on that size chip the GUI interface has to go to free up space to add more support.
Like I said, the mflash does not work at all. The UI looks terrible compared to what came out of the boxIs there an issue with the system? any weird bugs? or is it just the new UI that you dislike?
There is no flashback button, everything I have read is in just screwedIf your motherboard has a bios flashback button, you can remove everything including all ram sticks and even the CPU. You don't need mouse or keyboard either. Only the motherboard and PSU and a USB flashdrive.
The “official” tech support just sent me a video on how to enter mflash…another upsetting factor. I have a B350 Gaming Plus, 32 gb (8x4) Ballistix DDR4 2400 mhz Ram, Ryzen 5 2600, RTX 5060, power supply is evgaFirst, you need to let us know all of your hardware so we can start troubleshooting. There is no "Official" Tech Support here it is all user to user, so the more information you give us, the better we can help you. Be sure to include model and make of power supply and if you have model numbers for the RAM it can help too.
Gotcha, is that the latest version for your MB? I'm just curious if the freeze happens when upgrading the version vs trying to roll it back. Judging by the fact that they had to strip stuff out to support the newer version I suspect it might not let you go back ( or the path back is buggy and untested ).Like I said, the mflash does not work at all. I assume you tried clearing your TPM cache? If not you could give it a shot real quickAMD fTPM
Hmm also from digging around it seems like the Ryzen 2000 series might not be getting TPM updates from AMD since they're considered "legacy"Ryzen 5 2600

Thanks for the help. What would you recommend board wise if I stayed with an AM4 Chipset? I have considering buying a Ryzen 7 5800x3d. Did not wanna go AM5 chipset with the RAM prices these days.Time to spend some money:
AMD does not support Ryzen 1000, 2000 TPM update

Sorry bud...
Ideally we'd get the latest X3D CPU that AM4 supports ( the 5800X3D ) but the chart from the thread I posted above concerns me...Thanks for the help. Also would that ryzen processor fix my TPM issue?
I'll let the others direct you, have never used an AMD setup. Thanks for the help. What would you recommend board wise if I stayed with an AM4 Chipset? I have considering buying a Ryzen 7 5800x3d. Did not wanna go AM5 chipset with the RAM prices these days.

It’s says my version is 3.8.03. Tried to attach a picture and it wouldn’t let meIdeally we'd get the latest X3D CPU that AM4 supports ( the 5800X3D ) but the chart from the thread I posted above concerns me...
There are 2 key pieces of information here:
1) AMD does not support Ryzen 1000, 2000 TPM update
2) The bars represent which CPU architectures get the TPM update from MSI's side

the 5800X3D gen is code named vermeer, so it might not be covered ( according to the chart ). Though this is an image, not very editable from day of posting... things could have changed
your 2600 is Pinnacle Ridge, which according to this graph is covered ( ??? conflicts with the above info of 2000 not being supported, maybe it's supported by MSI but AMD isn't pushing the TPM updates to that branch )
Out of curiosity though, can you open up windows search -> type "run" ( without quotes ) -> input "tpm.msc" -> check the last row under TPM Manufacturer Information-> middle value in that row ( Manufacturer Version ). Just curious which one you're currently on
IE, this is mine:

I'm going to see if the mod on that thread can hopefully chime in to see if the B350+5800X3D gets the TPM update ( as of today )
