Have a new build,  long story short -- it turns on and immediately turns off.  MB is M45 z97.  Right now, it is down to the only things hooked up are the power switch, the CPU (i7 4790).  audio wires to the case and the power supply (Sentey 750W).  How Do I Determine what part is the issue.  There are no beeps,  PSU passed the paperclip test and when connected, all case fans and leds worked

Thanks David

Hi,

Please provide full system spec, for guide see >>Posting Guide<<

In my opinion it's the PSU. Yes I know it's expensive etc etc, but it's also one of the most failured ones around for such price. So if possible, test your system with something more trusted such as Cooler Master, Corsair, Seasonic or Antec.
Also try to boot when the motherboard is placed on non conductive surface (motherboard box for example) with all USB devices, any audio/USB (case) cabling disconnected.

Thanks for your quick response.  Is there a way to test the PSU or should I just get a new one to test with and return which ever one doesn't work

Yes getting new one is the way you should test it. And if possible, then return the non working one.
