I wanted a new system as my i5-6500 was showing its age. Had to buy all new stuff except my case, Raidmax Scorpion V. New Mobo is a MSI z690-a and cpu is an i5-12650K. New to OC so had to get a cooler. Chose air, a Noctua D15. What a beast to install. Had to connect some cables first as the fins extend a lot. Had to remove the top cover to access the fan clip. I have the fans flowing to the rear, right into the case fan. Keeps it cool and no noise.
The PSU is an EVGA 750 GT Gold and the cables are just long enough. The PSU is mounted on the bottom of the mid-tower and the 2 CPU ports are at the top. 1st time using a modular unit and I guess it's nice for some to have split connectors, but putting in 4 4-pin plugs into 2 8-pin sockets was a pain. Their connectors fit very tight into MSI board and Raid max connections. The mobo has holes for the extra standoffs along the edge that I didn't have installed and I thought I was going to crack the board trying to get the ATX plug installed. Be careful.
