Hey everyone, first time poster here. I just purchased the MSI mag z690 tomahawk wifi ddr4 motherboard and I am wondering which drivers I need to install from MSI and where to find them. My motherboard came with a USB flash drive which apparently has drivers on it, which I have to install. Am I supposed to install both the USB drivers and the drivers found on the MSI website?

the ones that come on the USB Drive will be older then the ones on the MSI Website

you will need these:
Intel Chipset Driver
Intel SVGA Drivers
Intel WIFI Driver
BlueTooth Driver
Realtek HD Universal Driver
Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver
Intel Management Engine Driver
Intel Serial IO Drivers

if you want to control RGB Devices too you need to get the Utility:
MSI Center

Yes, forget the drivers that come on the USB stick. They are outdated as soon as you get them. Use the drivers from the MSI website or from Intel directly, whichever are newer.

Actually, first thing before all that: I would update to the newest BIOS from the support site. The early Z690 BIOS was buggy. It's still not perfect, but they improved a bunch of things in new versions.

Update how-to:
1) Get the latest BIOS from https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MAG-Z690-TOMAHAWK-WIFI-DDR4/support
2) Extract the file and you will get a text file and the BIOS file. Put the BIOS file into the root folder of a USB stick/drive.
3) Enter the BIOS by pressing DEL during boot, go to "M-FLASH" in the BIOS.
4) Once M-Flash (the updater) is loaded, it will show a list of your drives. Select the USB stick and select the previously extracted BIOS file on there.
5) It will ask for confirmation and then update the BIOS. It's fully automatic from there, takes about two minutes.

I explained the Windows installation procedure a bit here: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?...fi-now-os-wont-load-help.369450/#post-2092501

After Windows is installed, install the chipset drivers first, these tell Windows the right names and properties of all the Intel stuff onboard. They are a must for proper energy saving modes and so on. Then Management Engine and Serial I/O (from MSI support site) to get rid of unknown devices in the device manager, audio drivers if you use onboard audio.

Then LAN from here, https://www.intel.com/content/www/u...el-network-adapter-driver-for-windows-10.html (Wired driver x64)
Intel Graphics: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19344/intel-graphics-windows-dch-drivers.html
Intel Wi-Fi/WLAN: https://www.intel.com/content/www/u...i-fi-drivers-for-intel-wireless-adapters.html (Driver64)
Intel Bluetooth: https://www.intel.com/content/www/u...-bluetooth-for-windows-10-and-windows-11.html

Finally, let Windows Update search for other drivers/updates you need.
