Alienware defector here!
I am happy to announce that I will be joining the MSI Gaming laptop community. I do a lot of work in cad, engineering, and database work. I had purchased an Alienware 15 R4 as I was dedicated to the brand since 2010. As an avid desktop builder, I found myself need a mobile solution as I am rarely in front of my system these days. I found that if I were to purchase a laptop for these tasks, then why not have some ability to play games as well. The Alienware was Bluescreening, Crashing, not recognizing devices, and randomly kicking me from my games to desktop. Needless to say, this went on for about of week. I had tried everything from Drivers, windows installs, custom drivers, under clocking, under volting. It was a nightmare. Ultimately, I made the choice to return it before the return window had closed on me.
I am very glad that I had made this choice. After careful deliberations, and with my positive experiences with MSI components such as motherboards, it was not a tough decision to make. I opted for the GE73 Raider RGB 8RF and I will not be looking back. Yet another customer leaving the side of Dell for a system that is actually usable. I am looking forward to partaking in the MSI Gaming Laptop Community moving forward. My only real gripe is the lack of the lootbox that was to be included with the system. WHile that is no fault of MSI, the retailed most likely kept them to sell as a separate item as I have been reading.
Again, thanks MSI for a fantastic running system, and making my life much easier than the weeklong heartache I had experienced with DELL. Their customer support is abysmal, and so is there new systems. A tragedy really.
