My new MSI notebook, my new toy for Christmas.
I just got a new MSI notebook Woo Hoo. A new toy to while away the last of the Christmas holidays. Sadly I spent an hour trying to register my new MSI notebook. I had used the sticker on the box for the model number, serial number and CHK number. But the CHK code I used was wrong. The CHK number is NOT on the cardboard box on a sticker which also had the model number and serial number, but on the unit itself. It is on a sticker with the serial number on the underside of my notebook {or I guess the back of a desk top}. So to be clear, it is on the device not the box.... it took me a while to sort this out and a couple of days to achieve registration....
I also had an issue with the receipt which MSI want scanned or copied and attached electronically to the on line registration. The instructions want a two mega pixel resolution. I took a photo with my cell phone but it was at five mega pixels resolution. So I had to reduce the resolution. But my cell phone only reduced to a minimum of three mega pixels so I took a photo that was much bigger than the receipt an cropped it down to reduce the definition to less than two mega pixels. I hope someone who is having problems finds this idea useful.
But NOW I have a new toy WOO HOO.
First of all I downloaded Avira Anti virus that I highly recommend. It has many great featured including a Virtual Private Network, anti theft device location, pass word protection and storage. But my favourite feature is a Windows tune up app which reduces boot time. I also use it for my tablet and cell phone, I have a five user liscence at about $30.00 US per device. I have downloaded two hundred giga bytes of my games from Steam, this took about ten hours and so it is now time to play. Skyrim, Civilisation Six, Company of Heroes, Witcher three, Panzer Corp, Total war Rome,Total war Medeval, and so many more.
