Hey y'all, yesterday I decided to take the leap into the 1440p and 165hz experience. Coming from a low end 60hz led hdmi monitor I was incredibly excited.

The monitor looks great and loving the crispness, though beyond first impressions I've been having some issues in regards to having it operate at 1440p and 165hz.

- Of course first thing I do is plug in the display port cable the monitor came with to the display port out of my GPU
- Windows monitor settings, advanced display options, msi display kit, nvidia control panel, and the monitor settings itself ALL display the monitor as running 2650x1440 60hz. Pretty frustrating so I decide to just try HDMI again for whatever reason. It allowed me to run 144hz oddly enough which feels and looks great. But there's still no option anywhere to operate at 165hz at 1440p

Every description I read of the monitor and specs all show it saying 165hz without having to do any overclocking or hidden settings or whatever, just natively 1440p 165hz and I've seemingly run out of options.

I even tried doing one of those "custom resolution" settings in Nvidia control panels and just turn the refresh to 165hz, and it will allow me to set it that way, but doing so will essentially put it back to 60hz, and more importantly cause the screen to turn off and back on periodically every few seconds so I have to use whatever few seconds of visible screen to click back to the native setting of 1440p 144hz via HDMI.

Anyone have any help for this? I'm getting pretty disheartened that my new great looking display can't operate at what it's supposed to with the cables provided.
Thanks in advance, greatly appreciate any help on this!

I have a similar problem. Through the DP connection in Windows 11 I have managed to have the resolution of 2560x1440 at 165Hz without any problem. But from one day to the next, without changing anything in the system or installing any type of software or update, it only allows me at that resolution 60Hz at most, and as a recommended screen resolution 3860x2160 at 60Hz.
I do not understand why it could have been, if because of the monitor or the NVIDIA RTX 2060.
Any ideas or solutions?

Hello all,

I just had the same issue, that it only allowed me to choose at 60Hz resolution, and as a recommended screen resolution 3860x2160 at 60Hz.

Seems NVidia's latest update caused this issue. I went to the Device Control Panel and uninstalled the NVidia driver and let windows install the generic driver, then when to Windows Update and clicked on the Check for Updates button and Windows installed a working NVidia driver. I now can choose the resolutions at up to 160Hz.

Regards,
