no bios installed message? confused noob.

well i just built my first pc from scratch, connected all of my doodads, and when i turned it on for the first time it told me

detecting....
no device is found
bios not installed

then it goes to a screen that tells me i can press tab to configure my serial drives, of which i have none, and eventually goes to a screen that tells me that i need to insert a disk into the A drive.

what? i need help please.

reseting the cmos jumper, or whatever, seems to help. what is with these crazy electrical devices and all of their "jumpers" and "raid"s?

no bios installed is simply the Promise RAID controller showing its active with no drives connected ... to rectify simply go into the bios ... peripherals some where .. and disable the promise controller ...
