I'd have to go over and get that info as I don't have sight of the PC from here, I can say after building we installed Win 11 Pro and then used the USB stick provided in the box, that came with the board, to install the drivers and everything seemed to be working just fine at that point, until yesterday. What I told him to do, after reading this thread, was to clear the CMOS and fire it back up which thankfully got the Wi-Fi back up but for how long remains to be seen.
Hopefully MSI can sort out their BIOS and give us something that works reliably.

Never use the included USB stick for the drivers, they are long outdated. Always use the ones from the MSI support website for your board. Heck, even those can be slightly outdated compared to the drivers from Intel, Realtek etc. directly. But much better than on the USB stick which are guaranteed to be many months outdated.

Point taken, we had little choice at the time it was built but I'll be heading over there hopefully today or tomorrow. That said I'm not convinced it's a driver problem at all but a clean install of the latest drivers available from MSI for that board, after removing those currently installed, won't hurt. Then we'll just have to see how it goes after that.

I had the x870 tomahawk and have the exact same issue. It is the qualcomm driver. Their is a reason Apple chose to dump them. I am writing months later and no update or reasonable fix has been posted. I ended up switching out my motherboard and got a Taichi x870e. No lane sharing and they use MediaTek WLAN for a driver. I saw one of the fixes was to choose some hidering options in the BIOS and also turn x3d off, ridiculous.. MSi really fudged up on their 870s, even the godlike motherboard is having the same issue..

Hi, I found out that for some reason, that qualcom wifi 7 on this motherboard doesn't work on Windows 10, anyone had any success getting drivers for it in win 10?

Tried using 11, and it has issues with sound. which are not preset when testing on Linux PopOS. Wifi also works on Linux just fine...

Hi, I found out that for some reason, that qualcom wifi 7 on this motherboard doesn't work on Windows 10, anyone had any success getting drivers for it in win 10?

The Qualcomm WiFi 7 / BT Combo module doesn't work under Win10 because the driver uses the new architecture that only Windows 11 supports (NetAdapterCx drivers instead of NDIS drivers). This, quote, "brings an updated data path that sits below the TCP/IP stack, with improved performance over current NDIS stack by reducing latency and cycles per packet. The new data path is built based on the polling-based IO model vs. the interrupt driven model, allowing the OS to optimize performance."

So it makes sense that companies like Qualcomm, who want to extract the peak performance from their WiFi 7 module, will switch to that new driver model completely (also in light of Win11 becoming the de-facto standard soon, with Win10 support ending in October).

As to why it works on Linux, they have their own driver model there, so as long as someone has written a driver for it, it will work. But Qualcomm have not written a legacy NDIS driver that Win10 could use, so with there only being the NetAdapterCx driver, you have to use Win11. And from October onwards, almost everyone has to do that anyway, because Win10 will let its pants down more and more each month when there are no further updates/fixes for it.

Hey all, I've been having this problem too and I refuse to clear CMOS every time this occurs since I'd have to redo all my fan curves and various things. I saw someone suggest fully draining the power for 15 minutes so I gave it a go and it actually worked somehow:

power off PC
turn off PSU switch
press power button a few times to drain residual power
wait 10-15 mins
power back on

and now I have wifi again.. I've since disabled the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option in device manager > right click wifi > properties > Power management in the hopes this might help for whatever reason. I'm sure this will happen again and I'm not sure if this resolves the issue every time but it's a fairly easy one to try

On my X870E Carbon WiFi, I have a bunch of issues relating to USB ports, but did also have an issue with the 5 ethernet port too.

My WiFi has been working perfectly though using the Realtek and Qualcomm LAN drivers on the support pages for the motherboard.

The WiFi adapter doesn't show up during the Windows install (and nor do the ethernet portd) and I had to put the Qualcomm WiFi driver in the root of a USB and then use Shift+F10 to inject the driver's .inf file manually and then rescan and restart to then have the WiFi connection.

If you have freshly installed and bypassed the setup stuff with a custom install .iso it may be the same issue and you didn't inject the drivers?

However, it's the Qualcomm drivers for WiFi and Bluetooth here I installed and it all works petfectly:

Here are the Microsoft instructions that I followed to install the WiFi drivers during the Windows install. Not sure if it works normally within an already installed Windows install using Command Prompt?!

If you don’t see any Wi-Fi networks listed when you’re setting up your PC and see an error message, you might need to reinstall Wi-Fi network adapter drivers. Here’s how:

  1. On a different PC, download the necessary Wi-Fi network adapter drivers from the manufacturer’s website.

  2. Unzip and copy the drivers to a USB flash drive. The .inf file must be in the root of the flash drive and not in any subfolders.

  3. Note: This assumes your drivers came in the form of a compressed (zipped) folder, or .ZIP file. If your drivers came in the form of an executable (or .EXE) file (or if that's all you see once you open the .ZIP), you may just need to open that file to install the drivers. Contact your hardware manufacturer if you have further questions.

  4. On the PC you’re setting up, plug the USB flash drive into a USB port on your PC.

  5. Press Shift + F10 to open a Command Prompt window from setup.

  6. Type diskpart and press Enter. If prompted, select Yes to allow it.

  7. In the new DiskPart window, type list volume and press Enter.

  8. Note: The letter of the USB drive, is listed in the column under Ltr.

  9. Press Shift + F10 to open a Command Prompt window from setup.

  10. In the command prompt, type pnputil /add-driver <USBDriveLetter>:\*.inf, and then press Enter. The full command should look like this: pnputil /add-driver D:\*.inf

    Note:
Replace <USBDriveLetter>:\ with the drive letter for your USB flash drive, such as D:\.

  11. You might need to scan for devices afterwards. To do this, at the command prompt, type pnputil /scan-devices, and then press Enter.
If it still doesn't show up, you may need to restart your computer and re-enter the Windows setup for the WiFi adapter to be recognised.
Life saver, I just had to select install driver from Windows 11 during setup and point to the .inf on my USB driver and it worked!

I also have a problem with Wi-Fi in windows 11 and I don't know how to solve it?
STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE (Kod 10)

This just happened to me as well. I was mid gaming session and my network died... I've tried uninstalling the device, device driver, etc. rebooting, clearing CMOS, etc. Nothing works.

the problems we had around Christmas time with a new build using the carbon mainboard were the same, disappearing wifi.... the solution that fixed it for us was to update the system with the latest bios (at that time) and install the latest drivers. Since doing that at the start of the year I'm told there have been no problems whatsoever since.
edit - this was on a system running Win 11 pro

This was what Msi support instructed me to do. It’s a bit frustrating that they advertise such performance features for a motherboard yet they effectively can’t be used… even on my overpriced GODLIKE x870e.
Can you send me the spesifics about that? I will try to disable everythin. Its 15th day of my setup. If it doesnt solve the issue Im gonna RMA the board.

No WiFi either. Used Device Manager to add driver, pointed to downloaded directory with the WiFi .inf file, it found it and loaded the drivers. Rebooted and no WiFi. Have an Unknown device warning in Device Manager which is most likely Wifi, pointed to the directory with the WiFi drivers to update and it says no drivers found :(.

Ok, after loading driver via device manager, I had to turn off computer and disconnect power and turn it back on after all LEDs on motherboard was off. Currently on WiFi with the Ethernet cable removed. So, it works, just use the Device Manager and download the driver from MSI directly, Add Device from menu in Device Manager and point to the directory after being unzipped and it should work.

in the bios, I had to disable the CPU Game Boost and x3D Gaming Mode - both are visible in the default EzMode page... the Game Boost option totally jacked up my system when enabled but the x3D Gaming Mode worked for several weeks before the wireless adapter started throwing the error about power. As soon as I disabled both those features, everything worked just fine.
