Non warranty issue

I have a Stealth Laptop in for repairs and got an email telling me that the repairs would cost me $999.00. I would understand this if I'd done something to my computer. As it is, the laptop has been sent back for repairs for Wifi issues, Overheating, and not charging. At no time have I ever opened the case on the laptop or done anything to cause issues with the motherboard. The only people to go inside the system are the TECH's at MSI. My question who else are they brow-beating for issues that weren't caused by them? I have issues with this laptop since purchasing and for $999.00 might as well buy a new one.
 
Who knows. That sounds rather ridiculous to be honest. I'd try and contact them to find out what's going on. Something just sounds really wrong in this case.
 
Here's the real kicker to this. How is a motherboard $999.00? Hell, that's a new computer. I only paid $1500.00 for the Stealth. And thanks for the reply.

I mean, I tend to agree with you in all honesty. Even looking at ebay prices, they're cheaper than that.
All said and done, we're just going to keep postulating WHY MSI is saying it's that much here. You'd really be best off contacting them to find out. That's really all I can say/do. :/

For me, if you're out of warranty, the RMA process is usually a disappointment. The $999.00 cost may include the shipping fees, the motherboard's price, labor fees both for replacing the motherboard and detection of the issue. To clarify, you should contact them for details. Best of luck.
