MAG342CQR connected via data port. For some reason every time I log into a game, switch screens or something. A little tab pops up at the center of the screen with "DP" in the center of it. I know it's letting me know it's found a signal, etc. But is there a way to turn it off? I can't seem to find it in the settings anywhere.
Next issue is something I've never experienced. But if I'm in game and adjust volume via keyboard (corsair mechanical - roller), the screen blanks. Comes back after a second or two, but It's much more annoying than the dp tab because at least with that the screen is still viable. I'm still tweaking the monitor settings, but if anybody could point me in the direction to fix either of those issues I'd appreciate it.

What is mean data port?
did you connected 2*monitors?
Please provide picture for full massage of "DP".

Please set "Auto Scan" to OFF in OSD.
OSD / Input Source / Auto Scan: OFF

Data port. The port from the video card to the monitor?? Not the hdmi connection. The backside of the monitor there is 1 data port, 2 hdmi ports and the power port. I use the data port for better resolution/hz.
There is a secondary monitor that is 5"x10" that I use for data display from sensors. That monitor is connected with an hdmi cable to the video card. The pc is setup so that the primary display is the MSI monitor linked in data port one of the video card. So there are zero issues with what is being read as the primary. Autoscan has been off since initial setup/tuning of the monitor. I cannot use OSD, since for some reason it fails to recognize the monitor. I've been online twice talking to a tech and we've covered everything from different DP cables, hdmi cables and updated bios/drivers and nothing worked. So everything is manually input through the monitor itself. I'm a prototype mechanical engineer/fabricator by trade, so this isn't exactly my first rodeo. Been building/modding custom pc's since tandy put out the 3200 and a 2mb ram chip was $300. I've never had an MSI monitor before and this is the first time anything like the 'dp' screen popping up as well as the black-outs when adjusting volume has ever happened. So figured I'd start here and see if anybody else has had/knows of the issue, but so far haven't come across it. the dp popup seems to only happen when opening larger pieces of software like games. I thought at first it would have been due to not having a matching resolution when first loading. But it even happens after I reset the game resolution to match the desktop. As for the screen blacking out, that seems to only happen during games. All the games are full screen, matching desktop resolution. So the transition shouldn't affect anything, nor should the volume adjustments. First time for everything though.

DP = Displayport.

Does the DP message occur in all games or just those that are running exclusive full screen?

Oddly enough, it seems to have gone away. I don't know why, but the only time it's done it all day is was at boot. It popped up during the login, then hasn't happened at all. I've even opened/closed programs that I've known will do it and not a thing. I forgot to try the volume/blackout issue, so I'll work on that one later. It's more annoying because my office also happens to be next to my 8 year old son's room. Which would be fine, until I go from autocad/catia to destiny2 or assassin's creed. I've only had the monitor a couple days and it's already trained me to set the volume before opening the game lol. It'd still be nice to use the OSD software since I'm still tweaking here and there.

And just for the record, yes apparently I'm a bit more set in my ways since the DP is now called that. Of course I started when DOS was new lol

Have you tried unplugging the smaller screen before using the OSD app?
Have you looked at the OSD with the red button, it's all I use?

Oddly enough, now the blackouts during volume adjust are gone as well. I know it's not any changes in settings, or upgraded software/bios, etc. Or even re-booting since every night everything gets shut down anyway. So I'm a bit confused about this one. I've never seen a problem that has persisted since the beginning just disappear on it's own. There's other versions of OSD? Like I said, first MSI monitor. So when I downloaded the osd, it was the most current version. Oh, to answer your question, ya, the small monitor was unplugged just in case it was trying to read that one first. Oddly enough when I open the software and the error comes up, it won't let me exit normally. So just close it in task manager. So thought the same thing, maybe it's getting hung up trying to re-read the system and stopping/starting over because of the little monitor. I could try unplugging it and switching from the display port to an hdmi cable just to see if maybe that does it. About the last thing to try at this point. But once the monitor is finally tuned the rest of the way it'll stay that way until the 3080 gets here. Then I'll go through the process all over again.
