When will this update come out? Do we wait 1 month or 2 months? I have bought the MSI MAG Coreliquid P13 AIO cooler a month ago, and it's extremely frustrating to have this issue... Im considering using the warranty from the store and change this cooler to another. Depending on how long time it will take for the update fix, i might keep it anyway (if it takes 1 or 2 months).

Hey everyone, wondering if anyone else is having this issue with MSI EZ Display.

I’m trying to use the display on my MSI cooler as an extended Windows display. Windows detects it correctly, and when I select “Extend desktop to this display,” it actually works perfectly for a few seconds. I can see the extended desktop on the cooler screen like it’s supposed to.

Then the screen suddenly goes black and Windows changes it back to “Disconnect this display.”

I’m currently running an RTX 5080 FE with NVIDIA Studio Driver 616.56 on Windows 11.

I also noticed Windows Controlled Folder Access was blocking an MSI EZ Display process. I added it to the allowed apps and rebooted, but unfortunately the exact same problem continues.

Things I’ve confirmed:

  • Windows detects the display
  • Extended mode initially works correctly
  • The cooler actually displays the Windows desktop for a few seconds
  • Then it goes black
  • Windows reverts it back to “Disconnect this display”
  • Allowing MSI EZ Display through Windows Security did not fix it

I’d rather not roll back my NVIDIA driver because I use this PC for both gaming and professional video editing and want to keep the newer driver improvements.

Has anyone found a fix for this on 616.56, or is this currently an NVIDIA/MSI driver compatibility issue?

Any help would be appreciated. I’ve already spent way too much time troubleshooting what should be a pretty straightforward feature on a premium cooler.
