Most laptops today feature displays with at least a 1920x1080 resolution, also commonly referred to as 1080p or Full High Definition (FHD). Higher display resolutions include 2560x1440 (QHD, 2K) and 3840x2160 (UHD, 4K). The higher the resolution, the higher the pixel density, the sharper the image.

4K displays have four times the number of pixels of standard 1080p displays, which means that a lot more computational power from high-power GPU is required to render the graphics. In the past, not many laptops have the capability to drive such demanding tasks.

Getting RTX 4090 / 4080 Laptops? Might want to also consider getting 4K

As graphics grow increasingly sophisticated, many AAA games are too performance-intensive to run smoothly at 4K resolutions, even with the previous best-performing RTX 3080 Ti laptop GPU. As a result, that magical 60 FPS bar that gamers demand is rarely met.

That is until RTX 4090 / 4080 Laptops came along. With NVIDIA's latest "Ada Lovelace" architecture and DLSS 3 (Deep Learning Super Sampling) technology, it's clear that 4K gaming is no longer out of reach.

In these AAA Game titles are benchmark at 4K resolution on Ultra graphics settings:

In their native performance, without any Ray Tracing or DLSS trickery, you can already see RTX 4080 outperforming previous flagship by a significant margin. With Ray Tracing + DLSS 3 turned on, RTX 4090/80 laptops leaves RTX 3080 Ti in the dust, reaching over 100+ fps.

Even when looking at the less-powerful thin & light models, a really portable RTX 4090 will also be able to reach 60+ fps or even 100+ in certain titles. Who would’ve thought!

More than Resolution: Exclusive MiniLED Display with Vibrant Visuals

In addition to the sharp 4K visuals, many selected models are also available with the optional 4K 144Hz MiniLED display with VESA DisplayHDR1000 certification. The state-of-the-art display supports K-Zone (1000+) local dimming, 1000nits peak brightness, 100% DCI-P3 wide color gamut, 10-bit color depth, 1 million-to-1 high contrast ratio. The results are mesmerizing colors and fidelity with sharp contrast details, taking the visual experience to a whole new level for both professional creation and gaming.

Seems like double the performace!
Yep, they show things like that every year. If i would compare all those pictures 1 by 1 for 10 years you should now have a NASA computer. Then when you have bought this “NASA” computer you notice it increased like 20%.

Even the 30fps on Cyberpunk is incorrect with a 3080ti card. My old laptop with a 1070 8 gb card had a stable framerate of 60+ fps on 4k resolution.

It’s all marketing.
