As one of the largest mainboard manufacturers in the world, MSI sell a large range of their own boards for retail markets.

They also manufacture boards for many large system builders, such as IBM/Lenovo, Gateway, eMachines, HP, Medion, etc. These are known as OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture) boards, which MSI does not provide end-user support for. They also manufacture notebooks which are also rebranded for other companies (eg the Advent 4211 is the Wind U100 produced for Advent Computers, part of the DSG chain in the UK/Europe).

OEM boards and notebooks may be based on existing MSI retail products, or may be designed specifically by the OEM themselves. Either way, they are supported by the OEM, and not by MSI.

If you require a BIOS upgrade for an OEM board or notebook manufactured by MSI, you will have to look to the OEM system builder for BIOS updates, you cannot use MSI retail BIOS updates.

MSI, and this forum, will not be held responsible if you try to flash an OEM board or notebook with an MSI retail BIOS and something goes wrong. You may also invalidate any warranty you may have with your OEM also.

The moderators reserve the right to close topics started in these forums, referring to OEM mainboards and other products such as notebooks, as this forum is only for supporting MSI end-user retail products.
