How do I make the selected input (DP) remain permanently selected after the PC is turned OFF?
I got PC conected to DP input and Server to HDMI1 input. The server runs 24/7 while I use the PC from time to time. If I use the PC and I turn it OFF the monitor goes black as it should . However after several seconds it turns ON on HDMI1 (Server) input and displays my server desktop which I don't want to happen. At the moment the input select screen has only input options and no AUTO.
In my other LG monitor I have Auto option which when selected will do exactly as my MSI does now. But if I select (on LG) any input, it will not switch automaticaly to any other inputs.
In short I do not want my MSI monitor to change selected input on its own, and stay black when I turn OFF PC.
Hope that make sense. At the moment that seems not possible. Any suggestions ?
Thanks,
Michal

Please press Navi key at back side and then it will be showed OSD menu.
Please provide firmware version on bottom right corner on OSD menu.
Example: FWxxx.

Hi,
Thanks for the response. The firmware is FW0.10
I contacted the support and was advised to RMA the monitor for firmware update and I was not provided with RMA number at the same time.
I like the monitor but I'm very disappointed that I can't do the firmware update myself and need to post it away. In addition the support supplied me with the link for the manual download. But that manual does not include the info I was told I will need. The lack of possibility to update the firmware by the end user is beyond my understanding and makes very bad experience so far. I'm thinking to return the monitor just because of that.
Thanks again for trying to help.

Hello

i have the same problem, maybe even more. I bought the same monitor and i love it, BUT. This Auto input switch is annoying me!
I cannot switch it off and it is so slow, that i cannot go to the BIOS, because the monitor goes to sleep. I´m not able to change the input to DisplayPort, because the monitor sleeps, not any reaction via joystick!
So the monitor is useless for me, i have to change from time time something in the BIOS. Right now i have to turn on my second monitor, i do the changes and i can reboot the pc. But it is not a solution, i want to sell my old monitor.
I have a week more, to decide if i return it back, or keep it. I would like to keep it, because its very good, but with this stupid function i cannot live. I think you could add a new function in the FW, so that we can turn it off and everybody is happy. My Fw is FW.010

Many thx for your answer.

Hi,
I don't have a good reply for you.
In fact I'm very upset how the MSI is treating me.
I decided to keep the monitor as I was advised it needs the firmware update to fix the auto switching issue.
I did send the monitor to MSI via the shop i bought it from. That was on 23.11.2020. I received it back on 18.01.2021 (yes almost 2 months without the monitor). The little bit of paper inside the box say "replaced board"
I connected the monitor and fired it up.
First thing I did was to check the firmware version. And.... FW.010, the same version as before. The problem is still not fixed and still switching inputs automatically.
I'm exchanging the emails with msi RMA but still no explanation what happened.
In fact no answer at all yet.
I have to say that it is my worst after sell experience to deal with any manufacturer I had to deal so far.
I don't know really what to do next as it is over 2 months now after I bought it and I'm not sure I can return it.
So with my present experience, I would return that monitor if I were you just to avoid any dealing with MSI. I personally lost any confidence in this company.

Thx for your reply. I really don´t know, what to do. Except this issue, i really love it. It has a little black smearing and ghosting, but not wild.
But the colors and contrast is far more better than my IPS monitor and it is more important for me.
I still have a week to decide if i´m returning it back or keep it and try to live with that issue.
Maybe sometime it will be fixed.

Fair enough, if you can live with it, keep it.
I too am happy with the monitor overall performance. It is not perfect but is good for the price. What really infuriated me is that MSI rma took almost 2 months to "update" the firmware and on the return of the unit it was not updated. And who on earth design a monitor these days that firmware update can not be done by the end user?????
This information is nowhere to be found and people are not aware about that fact when deciding on the purchase. I feel cheated twice now.

I did may decision today. I restarted my company laptop today and the monitor stays 10 minutes long!!! in standby. My laptop wanted to switch the monitor on, but it couldn´t.
I wrote to the company where i bought it and i will return it back.

Thx for your help, i hope you can solve your issue too.
It was my last MSI device!
