Hello!

I had MSI GS60 for 2 years and now I did upgrade to GS63VR. Can someone explain me how that indicator works on top of keyboard that shows what video card is using? In GS60 it was simple, blue color light programs - so it using Intel on board video card, red - heavy programs(Adobe) and games - Nvidia! Now with GS63VR its very complicated! Orange ALL the time, no matter if its heavy program(Adobe) or game running on. What surprise me sometime, when I start watching mkv video format or full screen Youtube (4k) red color pops-up and fans go mad! From Nvidia Control Panel I set manually all Adobe programs to use Nvidia and still color is orange :(

Is indicator now used for something else to display or its software issue?

Orange light means it is using Nvidia GPU.

You also could check with VGA driver and use [DDU] to remove the Nvidia driver.

Then, download/reinstall Nvidia VGA drivers from following MSI website.

Besides, you could update latest EC firmware and check the fan behavior again.

Abouth the orange LED always on, I had also this issue. This was due to a Nvidia driver update, that would lead to a service still running in background using the GPU in case you activated the Share functionnality (old name is ShadowPlay).
One way to check this is to go in your tray icon, right-click on GeForce Experience, open Nvidia Configuration Panel, and in the Desktop menu in the top menu bar, activate "display GPU activity icon" or something like that. This tray icon will be colored if a process uses your GPU (double-click on it to check which one, mine was like "NvShr.exe") or black and white if idle
