Ok lets make it a little bit more clear.

After I did the amiflash.exe BIOS.BIN /P /B /N /C, system boot ok and I got into bios I did "LOAD BIOS OPTIMIZED DEFAULT", followed by "SAVE AND EXIT". After that system got in a power on - power off loop (It tried to boot but failed) Leds showed "memory detection Test Testing onboard memory size".

After a minute it managed to boot and gave me the error "overclocking settings have failed".

that is the EXACT same problem I had with bios 1.3
I got out of it by exiting without saving which actually got me into the OS where I flashed back to 1.1 where I am hapilly staying until msi recognizes this fault and fixes it
...

just FYI, after a bios update of my P35 Platinum from 1.1 to 1.3 bricked it and wouldn't let me boot anymore (RRGR, the ram error code) and I got some Kingston DDR2-667 CL4 ValueRam and got it working again I flashed to the 1.4b3 firmware to see if it works with my faster ram but it was a no-go.

Only flashing back to 1.1 helped.

Thanks for posting this beta BIOS. It seems to be the first one that has not given me problems on my P35 Platinum motherboard. I flashed the BIOS yesterday and everything seems to be working well. I knew that MSI would get it together sooner or later with this board. I had to RMA my board due to problems after flashing to 1.2 and got the board back with 1.3 on it and that got most things working properly but 1.4.3b seems by far the best so far.

Have most of you got it working with the high performance rm from the get go or did u have to use 512mb sticks to flash an then put in the high per ram later on ?

This is the first bios besides 1.1 that has worked with my Corsair CL4

I upgraded my P35 Neo2-FR to this 1.4B3 BIOS and everything seems OK, but I just noticed that Intel EIST doesn't appear to work. I don't see the multiplier go down to 6x when my system idles. Anyone else having issues with EIST?

A new BETA has just surfaced in the German MSI Forum: A7235IMS.151 (09/21/07).

For anyone interested, here is a Link to the BIOS (use at your own risk!):

Changelog will follow shortly.  The admin did not find the time yet.

Done. Tested it. Very similar to 1.40 but now the Vcore is even more inaccurate. It sets 3 steps below the displayed option (verified with MSI Dual Core Center and CPU-Z 1.41). It still has the "Double boot" and "Shutdown reset".

The "Double-Boot" is not really a problem, but to be considered normal behaviour.

I read that a user was able to workaround this boot-up behaviour, by setting PCIe x4 Speed Controller (Cell Menu) in BIOS to a manual value.  A second user confirmed, that this worked for him as well, although he also mentioned that he turned off a few other AUTO-settings in BIOS as well.

Maybe they are right.  Unfortunately, I can't test it, 'cause I don't have the board.

Well not my case. Set every option manually, and still have "double boot". I read the official MSI repport about the issue, something like "It is nessesary to make adjusts, blah, blah..." But I find it very "unprofessional" as none of the other manufacturers (Asu$, GByte, DFI, etc.) have done such an odd solution .

Hello,
I switched off the double boot with my P35 Neo2-FR by making the following changes in the Bios Cell menu.

All changes happen in the Cell menu.

Memory latencies under Advanced Dram Configuration manually fixed.
I specified the FSB/Memory ratio also manually.
The 800MHZ under Adjusted DDR MEMORY frequency manually selected.
I switched D.O.T control off.
Intel Eist switched off.
Adjust CCU FSB frequency manually posed on 333MHZ.
PCIx4 speed CONTROLLER set to 4.
Spread Spectrum switched off.

That was it which I changed. That applies only to the P35 Neo2-FR. I can?t say what happend whith other boards.

This workaround works 4 times in the german msi forum.

Greetings

Yes I tried that. It still gives me "double-boot". I'm currently using the 1:1 ratio (at 450FSB).
Anyway, did any of you noticed the "shutdown-reset" that I am referring?

I get this "double boot" only if my fsb is greater than a value I can't remember right now.
When I'll go home later I will post with the exact fsb mhz after which I start getting "double boot" .

Update:

From 371 fsb and up I get double boot.
