I am having the issues with trying to use OC genie. When OC genie is on, it reboots itself 4 times from 3.2Ghz decreasing until reaches 2.2Ghz on the 4th reboot and then just halts... and nothing on screen no matter how long i wait. I had to turn off the OC genie and then do a load to optimized default to get it back to 2666hz or it stays as 2.2Ghz. Tried many times, reset the bios using the jumper. tried many things, still not once does it overclocks.

Here is my build:
Motherboard = MSI P55-CD53
CPU = Intel Core i5 750 2.66G s1156
RAM = TWIN3X2048-1333C9DHX G - 2GB (2x1GB) CorsairTwinX XMS3, DDR3 PC3-10666 (1333) 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-24, DHX
CPU Cooler = Noctua NH-U12P-E SE1366 (had to purchase s1156 bracket)
GFX = MSI NX8800GTS-512-OC

I can use the MSI Control centre and boost it to 2.9Ghz from 2.6Ghz, but the OC Genie just doesn't work at all.

Its a similar issue with forum post https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=130938.0 but i was asked to start a new thread!

Oh yeh, I've also upgrade the BIOS from v1.0 to v1.2 and it still doesn't work!

Thanks..

Hoi.

By asking you to start a new thread is to ensure that no one is confused with 2 or more different person reporting issues which may be different.

Back to your problem. Did you disable OC genie before you clear CMOS? What PSU are you using (please provide specs amps)?

Yes, the OC genie was disabled before clearing the CMOS.

PSU specs are:
Antec TruePower Quattro 850W
http://tech-reviews.co.uk/reviews/antec-truepower-quattro-tpq-850w/

See link above as it wouldn't let me paste the table specs of the voltages to view correctly.

Thanks,

Hoi

Contact MSI Technical Support about this issue:

http://support.msi.com/

... and request the latest BETA BIOS which fixes OC Genie related problems.

If you read the info on the site I linked you to, you would have known that the support team is/was on vacation.

Please simply open another ticket.  Maybe yours slipped trough.

I've resubmitted my ticket

Hi,

I raised a ticket over a month ago, and still no response. Can you please get someone to look into this issue? I've seen this happen with another user on the MSI forum and they could not resolve it either.

Hoi."

I have recently upgraded the BIOS to 1.3 hoping it will fix this problem and yet the issue is still there!

Can someone atleast let me know if I have a faulty motherboard or it is just MSI's buggy software.

Kind Regards,

Hoi

just hope I get a response this time.......
