Hi All,

I got a problem booting up after updating the firmware from v1.1 to v1.3 for my motherboard P55-CD53. I have follow step by step as according to the guide written by Stu.

My initial Problem
After completing the update, my pc cannot boot up and i saw a split second flash of BSOD follow by my pc auto-restart. Then it prompt me to Launch System Repair or start windows normally.
When I choose start windows normally, my pc would also hang at the microsoft windows logo then follow by the split second flash of BSOD then my pc auto-restart.
When I choose the Launch System Repair, the system repair cannot detect any problems and would prompt me to the end the system repair which I did and the pc will shut down.

After trying the Clear CMOS recommended by Svet
I read and follow the instructions in the Clear CMOS Guide using the old method. I realised there was 5 pin on the JBAT1 with the jumper on 1-2 pin. So I put the jumper into 2-3 pin to clear the data. I then reboot my pc but the same problem still persist. The screen will hang at the microsoft windows logo then it auto-restart by itself. But this time, there wasn't any BSOD.

Please advice me what might be the problem and what is the possible solution?

My specs are as listed below:

Intel Core i5 750 2.66GHz w CM Hyper 212 Plus
MSI P55-CD53
MSI HD 5850 1GB
Team Elite 4GB DDR 3 Dual Kit 1333MHz
Western Digital 500GB Black Caviar
OCZ Modxstream Pro 600W
Running on Windows 7 64bits

And after completing the update, i try to reboot to my HDD. But it cannot be boot up and i saw a quick flash of blue screen follow by my com auto-restart.

Please advice me what might be the problem and what is the possible solution?

Check RAID and AHCI option in BIOS Setup, setting are reverted to default after BIOS update.
And if you use some kind of RAID or AHCI, OS may fail to boot with BSOD and reboot.
1st do >>Clear CMOS Guide<< with power cord removed.
See if OS can boot, if not go and verify your settings in BIOS to ensure that they are correct one.
If problem persist, "Turn off automatically reboot on system failure", hit F8 just after BIOS post screen and choose it from there.
When BSOD come paste the error code received

Post your progress in a new reply don't edit your old post to update it with progress, because it cause an mess.
Do all suggestions in a posts above, if no change re install OS.
