Just finished my latest build. This one using the P55-GD55. System posted immediately but I am getting random hard reboots. There is no bluescreen, just restarts to the colorful boot screen.

System:
P55-GD55  (Running latest BIOS - 1.6)
Intel Core i5 750 - NO Overclocking
Antec 300 Case
Antec TP500 Power Supply
Mushkin Memory 1.5v 9-9-9-24 1333mhz
Western Digital 320gb SATA Drive  (boot drive)
Samsung 1tb SATA Drive  (data drive)
ASUS 22x DVD-RW
Windows 7 Professional  x64
EVGA GE FORCE 210 (fanless video card) PCI-E 2.0 x16  (Using latest driver)

I have tried new Kingston RAM with the exact same specs as my Mushkin. I have also tried a different nVidia PCI-E 2.0 x16 graphics card. Same issue occurs...

The hard reboots occur frequently. Sometimes when I am just browsing settings in the BIOS and othertimes I am able to get all the way into Windows and installing apps.  I was obviously able to get the OS installed but I have never been able to make it all the way through Office 2010 install.

The only other thing I can think to try before RMA'ing the Motherboard and CPU (combo from Newegg) is to try a differerent power supply. I seriously doubt the brand new Antec TP-500 is the problem. (but it is worth a try)

Any suggestions before I start the RMA process?

Update BIOS, there have been several memory comptatibility BIOS updates for the P55 MB's. Don't think for for a minute that it can't be the Antec PSU, there have been plenty with Antec in that power range that had to replace with a better PSU. Corsair VX450/VX550W would have been a much better choice for PSU.

When I 1st got my H55-GD65 I had constant re-starts like that and after flash to the 1st BIOS update that came out it fixed my problem.

Thanks for the suggestions. Updated to BIOS 1.6 yesterday with no change in behavior.

I am going to grab a new power supply from a local shop to test tomorrow. If it is an issue with the power supply it has to be a defective unit. I have stripped the configuration down to 1 DVD RW, CPU, MB, 1 320gb drive and a low-end video card. The Antec TP550 shoiuld handle this easily considering I have not even seriously exercised the CPU or Video Card. The behavior is the same. Will post new PS results tomorrow.

Good thing I tried a new PS before RMA'ing the board and CPU. The problem was a defective Antec Power Supply.
I borrowed a basic 430W supply from the local computer shop and all problems are gone. Ran hours of stress tests
and no signs of instability.

Thanks for the advice...

Get the Corsair VX550.  For the biggest bang for the buck and for even greater future proofing, get the Corsair TX650.

Current price of TX650 with rebate is less than VX550:  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005

A bit off but newegg has the new Corsair AX1200 modular single rail +12V~100A
