Having multiple memory related issues with a brand new board, before I explain anything the RAM was tested with Memtest and showed no errors.

According to resource monitor, 2gb is 'Hardware Reserved'. I checked online and found no solution, 'max memory' is not checked in the 'msconfig' boot options, there is no option for 'Memory (Re)Mapping' in the BIOS, I flashed the BIOS to the latest version, I tried reseating the memory and the CPU.

As it stands:
There's a delay from pressing the power button to everything coming on
There are 2 bent pins on the CPU, but it registers correctly
All RAM is checked in POST, shows up in CPU-Z
The computer will only boot if DIMM1 and 3 are filled (dual channel mode works)
Neither of my sticks will boot solo in DIMM1 - remember, both sticks passed Memtest for a few hours
With 1 stick in, everything lights up, but no signal occurs and it audibly doesn't POST
It still reserves 2gb if I swap them around

Is it a straight forward RMA with 2 slightly bent pins? I'd rather RMA it then snap them off.

bent pins = not good, regardless how many when they make inproper contact with the CPU'S contact pads there will be functional problems.

When you cannot straighten the pins out, get the board exchanged.

i'm having the same issues with that board. Although the delay in  startup can be solved:
Go to BIOS Setup, ==> Power Management and Disable "EuP 2013"
That should do the trick. haven't figured out the mem issue yet.
Good luck

It must have been due to bent pins, I got hold of a different mobo and all memory reads fine. Return + Refund for me.

Oddly enough this new one had 2 bent pins as well but almost worked fine, only noticed when installing a new CPU cooler today - they went back in place easily enough. I have the worst luck with computers. It definitely wasn't me bending them, I'm uber careful when handling computer - too scared of screwing up!
