I'm not sure yet if this has to do with the NEC USB 3 controller, Marvell RAID or Jmicron 363 but Windows 7 x64 wants to install (optionally) a RAID driver from Accusys called the ACS-6xxx.

It doesn't have anything to do with this board and I think its false detecting.  Hopefully Microsoft will figure it out and fix Windows update.

I just did a cursory search and yes iapparently W7x64 tries to download and install from M$ and all I read that came across it said the same thing, don't let it install or if it did remove it. Something to do with RAID and if it did install there was a problem detecting SATA drives. I didn't read a lot but that's the basics of what I found. I'm not going to bother looking any more, I don't use 64 bit os, probably never will so others can worry about it.

This is the Marvel RAID controller.  For some reason, Windows 7 doesn't identify it correctly, and gets confused with the USB 3.0 controller, and neither one works correctly until this driver is installed properly.  The "ACS-6xxx" device is stuck at "Device cannot start (error 10)".

Solution:

1) In the device manager, uninstall the driver and check the box for "delete driver" as well.
2) in the device manager, right click on any device and select "scan for hardware changes".  Most likely, you'll see a number of different devices identified and installed.
3) If you get stuck with an uninstalled "Marvel 91xx Config ATA Device," the driver hopefully be found on your MSI install DVD under Drivers > RAID.

MSI should report this to Microsoft.  Its going on 9 months with the same update wanting to install and screw up my Win7 x64 PC

i used the Driver from the MSI DVD-Rom that came with my P55-GD85 motherboard for the Marvel and NEC USB3.0 Driver on my Windows 7 Ultimate x86 and it works great, so why not just wining just use ur DVD that came with ur motherboard it's not like there is a new driver for it every 1month  :lol_anim:

nope, ino it's annoying that windows update see the NEC USB3.0 / Marvell as ACS-6xxx but their can be something wrong with Windows Update or they just have same Hardware-ID's which shoudn't could happen, and i tried it fucks up everything that's why i use the DVD with drivers i got with my motherboard.

i think if u want that changed u need more than MSI Tech and urself to write to Microsoft for changing it, but who knows maybe u are luck.
