Hi everybody !

I'm looking for help, because I'm actually using a MSI P55M-GD45 motherboad with G.Skill memory. Unfortunately, operating systems I'm trying to run are sometimes unstable. To be more precise, the first boot is frenquently unstable... some various issues may occur... like weird graphical artefacts or crashing applications. OS is sometimes crashing too.
Memory stress tests had not revealed anything wrong, but I'm still thinking of a RAM related problem.

Bios is set to autoconfiguration, since I'm not able to make choices about ram without being sure there are harmless for hardware. I really don't want to brick anything.

Here are screenshots of CPU-Z results concerning my PC : if anyone could be kind enough to help me, I'll be sooooo grateful !
:)

thanx.

The Memory Command Rate is currently set to 1T.  Please manually set it to 2T in BIOS Setup (Cell Menu / Advance DRAM Configuration).

Hi ! Thank you for your (super fast) answer.

I'll give it a try (is it really harmless) and will tell you if it's working !
;)

Once again, thanx.

Done !.... so far, nothing exploded ;)
I'll test the whole thing during a few days in order to see if it changed anything in Operating System's stability...
See you soon

Hi again !

I'm sorry for this double-post, but turning Memory Command Rate to 2T doesn't change anything.
Not worse, not better... same unstable first boot.
This morning, I turned my PC on, and suddently, a nice BSOD appeared (windows7). As usual, when rebooting the computer (so, not a 'cold boot' this time), everything was ok, no more crash so far.
This is strange that my machine seems to crash every 'cold' boot... while when 'hot' rebooting, stability seems better.... pretty baffling in my opinion.

If Jack t.N. or anyone else have some nice advice to help me, I'll appreciate a lot.
Thanx in advance.
:)

Hi again Jack t.N.
I removed one memory module and let the first one plugged into DIMM1. Everything was fine yesterday, but today, when first booting my computer (THE cold boot of the day ;) ), BSOD appeared.

I replaced my plugged memory module by the other one, and this time my computer boot was ok... but it was not a 'cold boot' anymore ;)
Let's wait tomorrow morning to see what will happen.
By the way, considering the fact that my HDD was corrupted by these bad bootstraps, I decided to check S.M.A.R.T. data from my HDD using HD Tune Pro. Everything seems ok, since no hardware error is reported by SMART system.

let's wait and investigate ;)

once again, thank you Jack t.N.

Hi again !
Sorry, I'm double-posting, because I cannot edit my previous message (bug ?)...
After a couple of days using the other RAM module, my computer is stable. No more random application crash ... no more BSOD for the first computer's boot.
I'm gonna try to switch again my memory module (replacing it by the presumed defective one). If tomorrow morning my computer crashes, I'll be absolutely sure we've found the 'naughty guy' ;)

seeya !

Ripjaw bites again. Definitely RMA that RAM, Ripjaw series has a known record of bad modules. Some folks have had to RMA several times but in the end they ended up with some good sticks

Hi again ^^
In order to be sure that this module is defective, I plugged it back into the slot and tested it again with memtes86+.
No error o_O....
Then I turned on my computer this morning and the operating system crashed (hardware reboot during loading process ;) ).
When rebooting in safe mode, I saw my best friend again : BSOD  :lol_anim:..

No more doubt about this stuff : this memory module is defective.

Thank you very much to Jack for having solved this situation. You rule ;)
