I am eyeing a P67A-GD65 for purchase in January but i wonder if i can fit an Asus Xonar DX soundcard in the top PCI-ex1 without hitting the ram clippers, from the pictures that are out it seems like it would fit perfectly.  I plan to use two graphics cards with tri slot coolers in SLI and thus filling all expansion slots except for the top one.

From the MSI Global Website pic of the board, it looks to have a lot of room there. A worst case scenario looks to be an install of the RAM prior to that of the sound card.

Sorry for picking this thread back up but seeing as no review site have managed to confirm this or show pictures with a longer pci card in the top x4 slot i need to ask again. Will a Asus Xonar DX card fit in the top x4 slot without hitting anything on the motherboard?

I'm not sure what you're asking, but I would hold off on buying the p67a-gd65 or any other MSI lga 1155 mobo until they fix the bios issues. https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=144484.0
The OP's question is still valid regardless of any BIOS issue.

pci card in the top x4 slot
nodnox, just to clarify, the top slot is PCI-E 1X, not 4X or PCI.

HU16E Thanks for the reply, weird how i can mistake that as i know and have written correctly in the opening. I have my suspicions that it has something with it beening the day after my 30's party....and im still a tad hungover.

Concerning the BIOS issue that JesseG linked to, i have surfed on the Asus and Gigabyte forums and it seems all major brands have some launch issues with their motherboards but that is to be expected i guess.

Yes, unfortunately new releases can be interesting. On your original question, worst case scenario, RAM could be put in place before a Sound Card.

:beerchug: Happy 30th!   At least recover quickly! :-))

my dads new setup has a xonar d2x, just had a look and it i think itll be ok, the board will go to around dimm1 and 2, and its too close for the clips on the ram to open probably, so install ram, then soundcard :)
or just use another slot ;)
