Here are my specs:

P67A-GD65 B3 (bios v1.8)
i5 2500k
8GB(2x4) DDR3 Corsair XMS3 1600
GTX260 216
Teamgroup Xtreem S1 SSD 60gb (boot drive)
Win 7 64 bit

I have searched for a solution to my problem ,yet didn't find it so thought i'll post it here:

The MB ,CPU ,RAM and SSD where bought about 2 weeks ago brand new.

A few days ago i have experienced bad youtube/vimeo/(virtually all flash player video based sites) video playback (corrupted colors ,see attached image) ,corrupted images in browser (also a screenshot below) and artefact photoshop brushes (when painting in ps ,the brush showed similar to the youtube video playback ,random colors corruption).  I thought it's the browser (firefox 4) so i installed chrome ,same problem ,also in opera an IE8 so it's a hardware/driver problem.
At first i suspected a bad memory stick. I've tested them with memtest 3.5 from a bootable CD in dos mode ,in dual-channel ,individual sticks and in all ram slots. ZERO errors. The EFI memory tool also gave me 0 errors and also windows memory manager tool said there are no errors.

Now i suspect the motherboard. Another problem i had with the mb: it kept freezing in idle so i disabled all green-power settings ,speed step ,C1E and EIST which solved it.

I must state that i have no BSoDs ,no hangs/freezes/artefacts in 3d aplications and games, hdd played movies run perfectly fine and the pc runs ok.

I tried reinstalling my graphics drivers ,yet no result. No overclocking was applied to the system.

What can it be? I am out of answers ,google didn't helped me.

Thank you in advance.

Thanks for your support.
That's just my luck with pcs...i'm used to it but i'm really sick of it.

I'm going to update the bios via usb stick from the EFI ,last chance before RMA.

What do you recommend? 1.9 or the 1.10 version?

Ok ,i've flashed to 1.10.
Problem: can't access the bios via del key ,it keeps rebooting ,i can only access it if i clear cmos.

Am i cursed in any way?  :bonk:

Maybee i did something wrong ,here's the whole process:

Downloaded zip file ,formated fat32 usb drive ,shut down ,cleared cmos ,booted in EFI ,saved the 1.8 to the flashdrive ,flashed to 1.10 via efi.

Solved, i switched the keyboard's usb port and it did the trick.

Now it's time to wait again and see if it makes the same problems.

I am having the freezing problem as well, except it happens even when the system is not idle. My board is P67A-C45 (B3).
The only way to fix it is to turn off 'Intel Power Technology' in BIOS, which is not a true fix.
More details on this nightmare here:

Updated my bios from v1.8 to 1.10 (1.A) and solved the problem ,everything works fine!
Thanks again for the help.

After the bios update ,i have solved the freezing problem too.
When i was on v1.8 i solved it by disabling C1E ,EIST and all low power features and that did the trick.

Ok ,i thought it was solved but it's back again (winrar CRC errors and the corrupted pictures again)
Seems i need to RMA ,but what??

MB or RAM??

As i said before ,ram was fine in memtest86 (each stick tested individually for 20 mins and dual channel for an hour).

Ok ,i thought it was solved but it's back again
These are the toughest situations to troubleshoot, & make for wanting the offending culprit to just fail & get it over with. :undecided:

Ok ,long update on the problem:

I've updated the bios to v.1.11 (1.B) since i had the same issues after 1.A update problems solved again for a few days and the corrupted video playback in youtube are gone ,but now i get CRC errors at absolutely any rar archive i try to extract. I can only extract the archive if i restart and enter bios ,do nothing, save changes and reboot OR shut down ,take out a memory module and put it back in. And then the problems go away for 2-3 days again.

Tested the system with another pair of Corsair XMS 3 1600. Same problems.

It must be the mother board then ,right?

Or the memory controller in the CPU?
I'm now sick of all this...

It sounds like bad memory. I suppose it could be a bad cpu (bad cache on the cpu) or memory controller. Also if you run the memory out of spec it might be borderline.

If you read my last post ,i sayed that i tested the sistem with a different ram kit (the same brand) and i got the same problems. Itested the memory with memtest and there are absolutely no problems with it.
