Hello,

I am using the B460M PRO-VDH WIFI (B460M PRO-VDH WIFI) with a ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 Twin Edge OC (ZT-A30700H-10P) graphics card.

Everything was working fine until recently. I could boot to Windows 10 no problems.

However, now the PC continues to start and reset continuously before even reaching the BIOS/UEFI. Screen remains blank. The GPU LED diagnostic light on the motherboard lights up.

Occasionally an error message is displayed that states:

"There is no VBIOS support detected in this card. BIOS CSM/UEFI Mode setting in BIOS will be changed to 'Enabled'. F1 to run setup or F2 to load default values and continue."

From here I am able to get enter the UEFI/BIOS but changing the CSM or UEFI does not fix the issue. The card should have absolutely no problem being used with UEFI mode anyway.

I initially thought it was a problem with the graphics card which I have sent back to the retailer. They state that it is fine though and report no issues with it.

Have you any ideas what is going on here?

Thank you.

Is there any VBIOS update for your graphics card?
Is there any chance you can test with a different card other than ZOTAC 3070?

if an old GTX 260 can boot on your motherboard, i tend to think something is wrong with your current VBIOS >< or some weird compatibility problem.

I think he said that vbios update already helped.
I'm still getting the same issue even after performing the VBIOS update.

What shall I do here? I've never heard of a graphics card and a motherboard being incompatible in this day and age.

Official MSI support have just given me very generic support advice like resetting the CMOS.

I trough the update already fix it :
There was a VBIOS update. I have performed it. From what I can tell, it worked.

Try flash to the latest BIOS with Re-size BAR support .151:
then check if this issue will persist

Sorry, what I meant is that from what I can tell the VBIOS flash was successful!

Might have RMA that 3070, unless you can find another system to test it in to verify it works. Have you trieed other slots with it?

I received same MSI motherboard a few days ago and am having the same problem. I've done flash update to latest BIOS and even the new "Beta" version and none of them do anything to allow CSM mode for my SATA SSD or SATA CD/DVD. Just keep getting the "no VBIOS support detected" message. Getting frustrating.

I also meet this problem yestoday, I changed harddisk into GPT format , in order to use UEFI boot. then the problem is solved.
If you can't boot into OS on harddisk , you can use USB disk with PE to do it.
forgive my poor english.

Is this a common problem just within the 10th gen boards? I couldn't RMA the product because all the driver issues e.g. network, audio, vbios etc. I had to go through from the point of windows installation and regular usage don't occur regularly, so it is very likely that when they would ask to demonstrate the issue, the 'failure \ issue' might not 'happen'.
Whether the devs didn't fix this or I missed it or we the customers didn't care idk.
