Hello community, I recently acquired a new MPG Z590 GAMING CARBON WIFI motherboard but I have a problem with the PCI_E1 port on the board which does not detect any graphics cards.

On the PCI-E3 port, no problem and everything works fine.

I've already done a lot of testing:
- Checking the CPU socket (all pins ok)
- Clear cmos
- Upgrade and Downgrade Bios
- RAM change
- Change graphics card (GTX 1050 and RTX 3070 tested)
- Change CPU (other intel i5-10500)
- Bios settings (the bios doesn't have an board explorer, why?)

I always have the same problem, black screen. The GPU fans run but the card is not detected.

Configuration:
- Intel i5-10500
- DDR4 Samsung 2666mhz
- Be quiet 700W power supply

Do you have any idea what the problem is?
Thank you in advance for your help.

First off, check above the 24-pin ATX header if the VGA LED stays on. If not (for example, if only the BOOT LED or no LEDs stay on), then it means the board sees no problem with the card, and in that case, the BIOS screen will usually be on a different graphics port than the one you're trying. So then you try all the graphics outputs (HDMI / DP), including the ones on the board itself, since you have an i5-10500 with iGPU.

Only if it shows the VGA LED does the board detect a problem with the graphics card.

The LEDs stay off
The video outputs that work are only those of the motherboard and when I boot into the system, Windows does not detect the card either. Even when changing the IGD multi monitor bios, same problem.
Strangely on the PCI-E3 slot, everything works perfectly.

I'm going to try all the video outputs to see which ones work (motherboard and graphics card) but I think the only ones that will work are the ones on the motherboard.

That's weird then. If you shine a light into the first PCIe slot, can you see anything physically wrong with it?

Yes, I've looked at all the pins in the slot with a light and everything seems OK. There is good contact between the slot and the graphics card because the fans rotate, which is really very strange.
The only test I haven't done is with an 11th generation processor, that's my last idea.

I would open a ticket with MSI to ask for further advice. If you can somehow get a third graphics card for testing, just to make absolutely sure it's the board, that would also be good.
