PCIe bug with M2_1 slot on X870E Tomahawk

So, the M.2_1 slot keeps reverting to PCIe 1 x 4 on a cold boot, sometimes just a reboot from within Windows. Manually setting it to Gen 4 or 5 within the BIOS will get it to run full speed until the next shut down/cold boot, then it's back to 1 x 4 again. Basically, I have to keep switching between gen 4 and 5 setting on every boot or it's stuck at 1 x 4. Auto is also broken. Samsung 990 Evo Plus 1TB.

I've seen another user on Reddit with the exact same issue. Same board, different drive. Anyone using this board, check your drive speed!

Took one for the team and installed 7E59v2A52 on x870e Tomahawk Wifi and can report no issues so far. M2_1 full speed - has survived a restart, full shutdown, and wake from sleep. I was coming from the v41 beta BIOS. So far so good.
You're doing the Lord's work sir!

I bought the x870E Tomahawk for the Three external USB-c and four m.2 ports. To make sure I understood the provisioning of the lanes for the two 40 gig USB-c. I happened upon on this clusternut everywhere. How bad it really ~was/is. Sacrifice one m.2 and the two external 40 gig USB-C for decent functionality. I would have bought the x670e instead. Did not installed the motherboard yet. Just in case time ran out on the return. To be fair MSI did respond when I asked is this localized to the 9800 or is the 7800 affected. They said they did not know. Every question I asked was responded to with an appropriate amount of time. And every question was appropriate I don't know or I'll forward this information along. I was actually holding out hope for MSI to maybe fix the problem.

Today I read your post of being the fluffy sacrificial lamb. To me it was the equivalent of waking up and reading that some guy saying I'm no hero I just needed to save that bus full of orphans and nuns.

I'll gladly post my results when everything is together. I haven't even looked if the 9800 burns out on this board yet? I might pretend the speed holes?

About ---- ---- time MSI.

I'd tend to agree about the lawsuit avenue. It's something I've considered looking into after some other steps are taken first. I'm a retired business owner of 25 years with fairly deep pockets, and a lot of time on my hands right now. It's not something I'd like to do, but when such blatantly false advertising of a product is made along with the lousy customer service...well, it sure makes it easier to want to take some type of action.

BTW, A34 bios dropped on MSI's website this morning. No real description on what it fixes (AGESA PI-1.2.0.3c released). Unfortunately, I'll be out of pocket the next couple days and unable to test it out. I'll at least be able to follow this thread to see if anyone has any luck with it. Fingers crossed. 🤞

** Looks like new AMD chipset drivers just dropped too.
Is A34 a Beta?

Thanks for being the first to dare! Let us know if you notice anything strange. I'll probably wait a week or two before installing it. I hope it doesn't get taken down like the previous one.

I no longer see the link to the 7E59v2A52 bios that was released today for the MAG X870E TOMAHAWK WIFI. Manually typing in the URL, I was able to

Its the second Bios that disappeared without comments from MSI, whats going on MSI?
You have to notice your customers about this!

"It's recommended to adjust the CPU Core Voltage with AMD Overclocking mode."
What does that even mean? No more undervolting? My CPU cores are all undervolted with curve optimizer, is that still ok MSI?

I don't get it, this is MSI's official forum why don't they just come here and EXPLAIN?
