Hello

I’m currently running an MSI EdgeExpert workstation.

After reading a few threads on the NVIDIA Developer Forums regarding USB-C PD firmware behavior on similar platforms, I decided to check my own system.

Here’s the output from:

sudo dmidecode -t 45 | egrep -A4 "PD|Embedded"

Firmware Component Name: PD Firmware
Firmware Version: PD0 FW1: 0.0, FW2: 0.0
Firmware ID: Not Specified
Release Date: Not Specified
Manufacturer: Not Specified
Lowest Supported Firmware Version: Not Specified

Release Date: Not Specified

Also, fwupdmgr get-devices does not show any "USB Power Delivery Controller" device.

Is this expected behavior for the EdgeExpert under normal/stock firmware conditions, or should actual PD firmware versions normally be reported here?

If this is not expected, what would be the recommended way to resolve or verify it?

Thanks!

Thank you for the information provided.
To help further clarify the condition, could you also please help confirm whether the system was previously operating normally before checking or updating settings based on the NVIDIA forum discussions? If any firmware related updates/settings changes were performed before this behavior was noticed, please also share the related operation steps for further evaluation.
In addition, please help provide the following information for reference:
  1. * System serial number
  2. * BIOS firmware Information page screenshot (BIOS → Advanced → Firmware Information)
  3. * Whether all USB related functions are operating normally, for example:
  4. - System can power on normally with the power adapter
  5. - USB devices can be detected and function properly
  6. - USB-C display / peripherals operate normally
Please also provide the following command outputs:
* sudo dmesg | grep -i -E "ucsi|typec|pd"
* sudo fwupdmgr get-devices

In addition, OTA 2604 has been released today. We would also suggest updating the system through DGX Dashboard and sharing the Update Status result for further reference.
Thanks.
