Hello
I’m currently running an MSI EdgeExpert workstation.
After reading a few threads on the NVIDIA Developer Forums regarding USB-C PD firmware behavior on similar platforms, I decided to check my own system.
Here’s the output from:
sudo dmidecode -t 45 | egrep -A4 "PD|Embedded"
Firmware Component Name: PD Firmware
Firmware Version: PD0 FW1: 0.0, FW2: 0.0
Firmware ID: Not Specified
Release Date: Not Specified
Manufacturer: Not Specified
Lowest Supported Firmware Version: Not Specified
--
Firmware Component Name: PD Firmware
Firmware Version: PD1 FW1: 0.0, FW2: 0.0
Firmware ID: Not Specified
Release Date: Not Specified
Manufacturer: Not Specified
Lowest Supported Firmware Version: Not Specified
Also, fwupdmgr get-devices does not show any "USB Power Delivery Controller" device.
Is this expected behavior for the EdgeExpert under normal/stock firmware conditions, or should actual PD firmware versions normally be reported here?
If this is not expected, what would be the recommended way to resolve or verify it?
Thanks!
