Phase power led wrong way

I have a MSI P55-GD65, I have updated the bios to the newest version and now the phase led are working wrong. the are always burning and if I use the processor led 1 goes out.

Sorry :hypocrite: I am new here.

Cpu: QuadCore Intel Core i5 750
MSI P55-GD65   V1.2(bios version) 
Memory: 2x Buffalo 2GB DDR3-1333 (667 Mhz)
Video card asus nvidia geforce gts250 1gb dark knight version
Hard drive: WD 500Gb green
Windows 7 64 Bit
Corsair 450 Watt

If you need more ask it.

Bios was v1.5 with the bug I have downgraded in dos to version 1.2 with the same bug.



Edit: Didn't need all the other garbage for MB.

First auto update then the problem started, then I downgraded the bios via usb flash (boot dos via stick then use the bios file) but that didnt fixed the problem.

It s not a bug !

OC or not OC ?
-With OC the bioses 1.4 or 1.42 works with APS Automatic Phase Switching (what you means with the LEDs) .

-Other bioses later(1.5 ...) works not with APS @ OC .Only with Auto VCore and default BCLK 133Mhz together APS is running with bios 1.5 and later.
MSI delete APS@OC in newest bios(same with the P55-GD80) ! I know that.There is a changelog existing !

Take bios 1.4 or 1.42 and all your probs are gone ! :biggthumbsup:
Dont forget CMOS-Reset after flashing !

I suggest that you clear CMOS and see how it goes. I'm against using LiveUpdate myself as flashing a BIOS through Windows is never since there are so many running applications in the background.

Must I clear the cmos with the battery?

I have updated the bios(via usb) to version 1.5 and done a cmos reset via the battery and in the bios change settings to normal, but still all the 6 lights are burning and if I use cpu the leds most of the time 123 are blinking.

This started when I upgraded the bios V1.2 to v1.3 or v1.3 to 1.4 but Downgrading dont help anymore, is this not a bios bug?

I suspect that it may be due to a BIOS corruption when you flash using LiveUpdate. I recommend you to RMA the board for a replacement.

Is that really necessary? dont the USB update delete all of the remaining bios data?

by the way why youre making the Liveupdate tool? if it is not working correctly.

But I thought the bios deletes all of the bios data and upgrade the new bios so there will no old data? or am I mistaken

You know what is strange in the bios only led 6 is burning then led 6 and 5 then when the screen booting windows is coming all the 6 leds are burning and stay on, is this not a windows 7 bug?

You have already cleared CMOS, right? If clearing CMOS doesn't helps, then it is a different problem from the thread you have posted.

Regarding the LiveUpdate question, like Jeff mentioned, we are like you - end users ourselves. This is a community forum where users come together to help and share with each other. If you wish to use LiveUpdate for any upgrades of BIOS or drivers in the future, then you should log a ticket with MSI support. Otherwise, using the forum USB flash method for BIOS flash and downloading the drivers from the website will be a better option.

I have cleared the CMOS, but didn't help.

Is a usb stick that boot dos also fine or is the forum bios update tool different?

I must admit that the MSU forum flasher is a fantastic tool =) but it didnt help fix the bug I'm gonna try a boot cd and run some testing. Because I have presumption that the phase leds are working in DOS and not in windows (7). I will give a update if it works or not

I have ran the boot cd and ran a cpu benchmark test but the phase led dont work only the leds 6 and 5 are burning. Can software affect the leds? because I have different problem with different OS
