I bought a pc that was built by a “friend” that I no longer talk to. He installed pro tools and it runs windows, I record and make music. My hdmi was always plugged into the motherboard to a TV monitor, everything worked great. About 3 days ago I think my son knocked the tower over(he’s only 5 and afraid to tell me, even though he won’t get in trouble 😔). The computer turns on, but the screen is black. I took apart the computer unplugged everything and then plugged everything back in, took out the ram, cleaned a bunch of dust off the fans, then noticed I had a second hdmi port! Where was this port the whole time? I asked myself. So it’s part of the graphics card. When I plugged the hdmi into the graphic card port an MSI main board screen comes on saying it’s starting automatic repair and at the bottom I can press <tab> to switch to post, <del> to run bios setup, <f11> to run boot menu. I have no idea what to do when I get to the bios setup. It’s CLICK BIOS 2. If I don’t press delete, or anything it goes to the blue screen that says “choose an option”. Can anyone please help.
 
Press F11 and select Windows is your best bet

Thanks for the feedback. Everytime I press f11 and choose “Continue-exit and continue to windows 10” it just goes back to the MSI mainboard screen and repeats. I just don’t want to lose my installed programs and all my music.
 
Intel Gen 3 that's an old system
So chances are good it is damaged

How would I be able to tell? I really have no idea about computers. I somehow changed the power supply over a year ago by watching a YouTube video.
 
You may want to pop into a computer store and get them to diagnose the issue. Or ask a friend/colleague/neighbour to help. For us, over a forum, it's quite hard to help.
You could watch some YT videos how to build a computer, and that would give you an idea what to look for and where.

I just did that thank you I do have a mechanical HDD and a wolf spider just climbed right into the area of it so I’m not [***CENSORED***] with that right now..I’m sure if I take it to a computer repair shop and that guys still in there they might just throw the computer.

There’s a video on YouTube it’s about 5 mins long, the guy unscrews the hdd and it’s like a needle on a record player, he just pushes it back screws it all back together and it works again. Has like 6million views. So I have the mechanical HDD but I’m guessing it’s a newer one because it runs sat cables and not pins popping out of it like the ones from 20years ago. My main issue is keeping all my programs ESPECIALLY pro tools, like I said I record music, others and myself and I have 3 children and now no income. 😤😫

Never Open a Mechanical Hard Drive made after 2002 as them things are sensitive as hell and opening one is a good way to 100% kill it even if you managed to move the Heads back into place its likely that:

1: you will Introduce Dust into it and then its Dead (they should only be opened in a Clean Room that is free of any Contamination and is Sterile)
2: even if you manage to Avoid 1 you now have the Issue of newer Hard Drives needing every Last Screw on it being exactly Torqued to the correct spec as even one not being at the correct Torque will make the Drive Fail and Die instantly.

JUST DO NOT DO IT

Good to know we are not the only ones with that Spider in the PC problem.


But are good odds the hard drive is damaged
If you need the information off it you may be best to get a second Drive and try to clone the drive to the new one,
