Popping/crackling sound after driver update on Claw 8

UPD: It resolved speakers sound itself, but mic is still broken and while any app is listening a mic, such as discord, audio from speakers is broken even when ai boost is disabled.

I hope it solved it for you but I'm highly skeptical. If you get the time I'd recommend running a program called Latencymon for 2 mins and see if it spikes to Red. If it does, that indicates a moment when a "pop" would occur if you're running something with sound.
I believe these are different issues. I am talking about the one came with the update of the Intel's graphic drivers dated 30.05.2025

Could be, possibly? I'd only be sure if your unit can complete a run of Latencymon without error. The only way I can fix mine is by disabling Microsoft ACPI under the battery section of the Device Manager but then I can't see how much battery life I have left.

You are right - I have those measurements going into the red zone. And yes - there are 2 different issues, and one of them was fixed partially by disabling an Intel AI Boost

Hello everyone

My Claw 8 also has the same problem after installing last intel update. How can we reach MSI for them to solve the problem? It keeps popping and crackling, unplayable as it is.

Having the same problem right now after the updates, tried everything like reinstalling the drivers. It worked but after a restart it happened again. The current solution that worked for me was disabling the AI boost in device manager under neural processors, the only thing with that is my fps got lower. I hope they will fix this soon

Guys MSI come on I have the same issue after updating the Intel Graphis drivers, even if I rollback to the one of the oficial MSI Drivers page still with the same issue.

32.0.101.6874 completely broke the audio system, so I had to reset the PC. Then I updated through Center M (6647) and Windows Update (6734). Now I’m on version 6734 and won’t update any further. It’s stable now, and the sound issue hasn’t returned. I think Intel Arc Driver is the problem to.

I'm slightly amused what began as a small annoying audio popping issue caused by ACPI.sys has blown up into a larger unplayable audio issue caused by Intel drivers. I really hope they get this sorted out.

If this still doesn't fix the issue for you, try adding one step: Download the 3717 Intel NPU drivers (Google search), after uninstalling the Intel AI boost driver, install the 3717 NPU driver while still in safe mode. Afterwards process with reboot and install GPU drivers as instructed in video.

I'm also having this issue in the past few days with my MSI Claw 8. I've unistalled Realtek Driver from Device Manager and reinstall it from MSI M Center. Doesn't work. Even the Windows Boot Up Sound does crackling sound. It can be fixed temporarily with changing the output audio to something else and reapply the realtek on Settings > Audio > Output. The problem will then re-appear again when restarting MSI Claw 8, with Windows boot up sound crackling until you do what I just did again. So it will stay like this until either Intel or Realtek or MSI release UPDATED PATCH DRIVER! This is annoying despite manageable TEMPORARILY.

I have had my brand new Claw 8 AI+ for 3 days. Did all the updates fresh out of the box and now it runs and sounds like [***CENSORED***]. Awesome first introduction to MSI and there products.

The crackling sound is related to the latest Intel graphics driver and the NPU driver, kindly recommend roll back to the version on MSI website.

Hi all, I try to boot in safe mode to uninstall with DDU the fantastic Intel video drivers but windows 11 do not let me login (may be for the lack local account) . Disable/remove IA cpu do not fix the issue for me!
What can I do, stay with a device that noising like an hamsters.. :bonk::bonk:
