Greetings.

Posting from Windows XP 64 bits here.

It's kind a useless at the moment. I have no sound, my printer doesn't have any drivers, HP DeskJ. 5550 and ATi doesn't have OpenGL support in the drivers that ship with the XP64 install. Direct X is almost as fast tho as Winxp 32bit.

Any one feel that the Explorer is MUCH MUCH more smoother and more responsive and the system barely touches the hard drives in browsing mode?

Everything is just super responsive and the boot time is shorter too.

Regards,
Simon

...YAY...thanks Bas...got sound...here...

...tip...download and unzip in a Windows 32-bit OS...XP 64-Bit doesn't recognize zip and has no right-click option to extract...might just be me :bonk: ...

...getting a few pop-behind ads...???...

...I visit a forum that uses Flash and the Macromedia install notice showed up everytime I went to a new page until I checked the "Alway Trust Macromedia" box and clicked Install...heh heh...

...Paint Shop Pro 8 locked up once but Task Manager got me out of it...

...one odd thing...when I start up Windows loads and I get the desktop but then My Computer opens to the F-drive Program Files (XP 64-Bit) page...???...everytime...

...'nuff said...

...Just use Winzip brother...

... :bonk: ...

... ...

...thanks!..

...btw...now that I've got sound I installed PowerDVD...A-OK...

...the Windows supplied nVidia drivers are good enough for me...

Yes, the 64-bit environment is way smoother than the 32-bit version. Especially in Internet Explorer.
Regerding Macromedia Flash, I installed it but it only works in Internet Explorer 32 bit.

My system is a dual boot with XPPro on partition 1 on the Seagate and XP64 on the second. My WD resides on IDE3 but I have been unable to make XP64 see it. I'm using the VIA for my SATA. I do have sound and ethernet (onboard versions). I can't find any drivers that work for my Netgear FA311.

I like it so far - smooth and a little snappier - but without real software, it's kind of like being the very first person on the world with a fax machine.

Has anyone been able to get XP64 to recognize IDE3 (non-raid)?

...my extended clipboard (MemorizerXP) wasn't loading on startup...I disabled that option, put a shortcut on the desktop and start it manually... :-))
